1.1.2.0 Operators
I wanted to make a post giving appreciation and feedback on the direction of the recent Characters added to the BF6 as of the "California Resistance" update.
The fact the operators were not covered head to toe in camo and highlights, is proof that Dice do listen to the aesthetic side of the community, and for that I'm happy!
The 323 and Twin Flames are awesome additions to BF6 and i believe nails what a lot of people have wanted from the soldiers palettes as of late. Being unaffiliated militia, you can really tell they thought a lot about just how appropriate their garb would be. Civilians in origin with a military past standing up to defend their home upon invasion. The colours are distinct and appropriate with little touches that don't make them look silly like some of the other soldier designs as of now. Dice really nailed it with this Unit, this direction is the correct way to go in terms of colours, camos, etc. Big big thumbs up.
In comparison to Launch/Season 1 Launch operators.
I understand fully that the use of yellow tape and yellow additions in general is what make the Pax Armata what they are in the universe of BF6, but there are ways of doing this in a more appealing manner. The left two operators are incredibly gaudy and don't look conducive to a warzone, the use of highlighter orange on black, and a very niche, strange aqua/yellow fade camo from head to toe is just really weird and not something i'd imagine a Pax Armata member wearing willingly into combat.
On the other hand, the right two are much close to what i'd love to see from this faction, with some stipulations. The grey/yellow camo is overused which is fantastic, it's definitely a strange camo choice but i can see them using it in an urban environment and having it not stand out in a peculiar way.
The only issues i really have is the strange use of paint over certain pieces of gear, it's a nice idea and could certainly look good, but it definitely could be tuned to be more of a signal to allies as apposed to a messy spattering of paint because "it looks cool". We already have the tape, cloths and fabrics of yellow that many Pax Armata units use in regular outifts, and they are used just enough to not look silly.
Keep in mind, it isn't Pax Armata who are the only ones making strange choices.
The Desert Locusts are awesome, but when I went to see what their final outfit camo was, I honestly didn't expect this.
It's in the name "Desert Locusts" they already have their desert camo, I'm confused as to why they decided to give the Locusts desert camo, again.
Not only is it much worse visually, but it looks incredibly jarring. I've had games where I have to double take at a player wearing this palette because it's so strange.
I don't believe Dice were low on choices, they could have easily made the Heatwave camo for the Locusts a navy uniform camo, but opted for giving them their default camo but worse.
Plently of people have gone into detail on these issues and i've been wanting to add my two cents for a while now but found the topic online to be a little too heated for me. So now that it's settled down a little, i hope this gently lets the devs know that they are doing great, and we are open to the idea of recolouring and redesigning said eyesores.
Hell, we know they are willing to change some colours around, as of 1.1.2.0 the USG9 magazine has gone from having blue tape to green, so anything is possible!
