Aim assist vs MKB new update

Hello.

https://tracker.gg/bf6/profile/3185637424/overview (Here is my profile)

UPDATE: I also want to point out one of the worst netcode i've witness between consoles and pc players. Never ending packetloss and latency variation on crossplay matchmaking.

UPDATE 2: I was in contact with EA support regarding the bad connection, they changed support 5 times with everytime they changed support they also changed the game and the topic. EA support is non proffesional, they mock you openly because EA wont take action against these people, because they dont care well enough. I have screenshots of my conversation with EA support and as stated, they mocked me by changing the topic and the game from BF6 to FC etc. They also tried to help me with a ban appeal, when the category I chose was "bad connection".

First thing first, I have played both controller and MKB in B06 since release. I didnt touch the controller on bf6 until I saw how broken they actually are just for a test. I have 157.3 hours in bf6 with MKB, but ish 1 hour of them is with controller for test with the new/old aim assist people are complaining about. I have 3.9 ish kd with only weapons, no vehicles or etc on domination/king of the hill with over 19k kills

With that said, I tried controller for one hour with BFV aim assist settings, 100 cof on zoom and the first game I had 40 kill 11 deaths. I wasnt used to the joystick at all after many hours of MKB. 2nd game I achieved around 50 kills and 6 deaths and it was around that Kd for all games I had. The fact that I can just switch to a controller after 150 hours and perform just as good with MKB is problematic. Even though MKB you have to control the aim and follow your opponent while controller can just aim and shoot, since the recoil is basically 1.5x better for controller. You dont have to put as much precision/control attachment on your weapons and specially when I see 7/10 matches ppl with controller using DRS and KTS LMG (Also SL9). These weapons already have extreme low recoil and with controller they're both hitting everything on long range and mid range.

Yes MKB is easier than controller to handle, but with halfed recoil, aim assist that snaps and weapons with 0 recoil being overperforming is too much. Controller have every little advantage there is, MKB one missed shot and you're dead. Controller, you barely miss when using any meta gun basically. I was a controller player myself in cod bo6, I know how broken the aim assist was in that game, I also know that it is broken in this. Keep in mind, if they nerf the recoil on weapons that might improve the controller situation for me atleast. Let them work a little bit atleast.

This isnt a rant, if I feel ppl just play with one kind of weapon because they're meta hungry go for it, i'll just turn off crossplay until they fix the issue. This is mainly a feedback on how strong the aim assist actually is. Especially in gauntlet where they hold a position and just headglitch and shoots, you dont have time to react, you're just dead.

I hope EA reads this and will do adjustment to the aim assist, or atleast make the recoil a little harder to control for controllers or nerf the weapons that are shooting straight like a laser.

Best regards
Snefot

For me, the game is unplayable atm. Controller players dominate in numbers every lobby. 90% of the gun fights face to face, are a loss against them.  They just run Rambo mode, with an LMG hipfiring and wiping everyone exploiting the increased damage for hipfire and the aim assist. I cant win any fight in close range in Redsec against controller players.

I have to strongly disagree with calls to further weaken controller aim assist. The argument that controllers are "easier" misses the bigger picture: mouse and keyboard will always have a significant advantage in raw input precision, turn speed, and keybinding flexibility.
If certain weapons feel overpowered in crossplay, the issue isn’t the input device—it’s the weapons themselves. Guns like the DRS and SCW-10 have extremely low recoil and laser-like accuracy, making them dominant at too many engagement ranges. Instead of harming the gameplay experience for millions of console players by tampering with aim assist, the focus should be on rebalancing these specific weapons.
Nerfing a control method that helps level the playing field for controller users will only frustrate the core console community. If mouse and keyboard players feel recoil control is too easy on controller, why not advocate for improving recoil smoothing or control options on MNK instead? “Buffing” the experience for one group is always better than “nerfing” it for another.
Let’s keep the discussion focused on real balance issues—overperforming guns—not undermining the way most console players experience the game.

hankewyane if you believe for a minute that m&k and controller belong together in any shooter, you are clearly crazy and you should avoid reproduction, clearly you are clueless to both sides, you haven't tested both ways like OP did, you are here just to spam for no reason other than to grief.

As a controller player I have to agree. I come from playing other shooters like Fortnite where aim assist isn’t as strong and dominating the crossplay game. The aim assist reducing recoil on controller is broken and takes out the skill  of learning recoil control and tap firing your gun.

What I am concerned about is... If we just nerf the guns, the console players will still have snapping to targets and 1.5x better recoil. Majority of MKB players are casuals same for consoles, so if casual vs casual goes against eachother the controller would most likely win in this situation based on the aim assist and better recoil. There is no casual that reacts to someone shooting from behind before its too late anyway. The easy movement with mouse doesnt benefits casual players as snapping to target and lower recoil does with controller.

If you look at BO6 for example. Extreme majority of player played with controller, also former MKB players like myself changed input device. You dont have to put the same effort as MKB player does to achieve the same level of aim as a console player/controller even in the pro scene. You're much more relaxed and can play for longer hours than with MKB, because you dont need to throw your arms around like a maniac, you dont need to memorize the movement of enemy player (strafing) etc. Especially with games like cod that are fast paced and domination/king of the hill mode in BF6. I had a headache after 3 games in bo6, when I swapped to controller I played 10+ games before I needed to take a break.

Now I am refering to a different type of game and I dont have facts about majority of player playing with controller on pc except that everygame I played they had the controller icon, even on pc. Which indicates that they use controller on pc or a console which have 2 different icons. When I achieved highest diamond rank to advance into crimson, there was only players on controller both pc and console.

Now after all my crappy talk. Sorry about the length, but the only way to actually do something with MKB is to do the same thing they did on halo infinite. Which gave MKB aim assist aswell. That is not the way to play FPS games in my humble opinion and probably most people (speculation). Also should we go for AI assistance in FPS games? Should we remove all form of skill in competetive games? It should be fair for both sides, right now console players have it extremely easy because of the low recoil weapons and nerfing all weapons will hurt MKB the most. It is already hard to control the aim with the bloom added feature while moving, I am a strafe shooter so that is a pain with a weapon with 30 precision (with attachments aswell). I have to stand completely still to have the same accuarcy as the person with a controller do that can walk and shoot.  Because of the low recoil they can modify the weapon with different attachment that benefits both vertical/horizontal or bloom etc.

Edit: Also, BF6 is an objective focused game. Only time you actually run and have to check your back is from point a to point b. Then you sit there with healing bags, grenade dispenser, shields, mines, claymore etc. I do agree that PC have better keybinds modification than controllers, but they also can buy an elite series controller or ps5 dualsense edge with extra buttons.

  • I wish they would fix the connection issue with console and PC. We have a delay between the two.

So, when I play M&K on xbox, how does that solve the problem for me? And when your oponent on PC plays with a controller, what problem was solved for you?

Thinking the platform determines the input is old-pc-gamer brainrot.

Most LMGs have massive and immediate dropoff making them hilariously bad hip fire weapons. The M60 and DRS are different...but even the KTS just had insane dropoff damage.

Do you mean SMGs, not LMGs?

The bigger issue is the crossplay netcode is a tire fire. Mass packet losses randomly, horrible weird hitreg issues, etc - and for some reason it seems that when there's a desynch problem it's always benefiting the console player, you're never the dude with super speed and whatnot...it's always that guy on an xbox with shoddy wifi getting the advantage when their internet derps out.

That said 50% reduction to recoil is a massive, massive and frankly unfair buff to controller input. I get controller is a lot harder but this is getting into Hello Kitty's 1st Point n' Click Adventure territory. It needs to be dialed back a significant amount. Maybe not eliminated...but definitely needs to be dialed down.
