I'm just going to comment on the BF3 speed control aspect you mentioned, Winning dogfights in BF3 isn't about holding an arbitrary speed, Speed control is a pilots base level 1 of the skill ceiling, You can have the best speed control in the world but if you don't know how to correctly use rudders you'll be killed quick, if you don't know how to read air radar correctly and visualize where your opponent is to time switches AND catch their switches you'll be killed, non of this rear view cam bs to instantly know which way they went like BF4 completely narrowed the skillgap right there, Using sound to predict your opponent, when and when not to use ECM jammer to take yourself off air radar, use correct or opposite rudders to cut or counter cut your opponent by trying to gain or lower your altitude during diagnal loops, when to perform a hook to try get an angle, using low speed scissors to make them over correct and end up outside your loop so you can cut back in, or just slowing them down enough that they overshoot, the skill ceiling was so high in that game that people were just getting better and better for 10+ years everyone had their own dogfight style, and i'd say the players only reached the skill ceiling in the last 5 or so years, took people years and thousands of hours to figure everything out and master BF3 jets.
