Cover Squadmate with a Pistol while being dragged away during revive?

So during one of my matches with my Friends i got killed and while my Friend was trying to "Drag-Revive" he got killed too and than it hit me. It would be a cool idea at least for me if i as the Down...

I remember this question was already asked, and the answer was that it would be quite complicated balance-wise, for the simple reason that, if you're downed, you're technically invincible. I don't know if DICE thought about possible workarounds since.
