Developers for BF6, Listen up...
Starting this off right, here's the only thing you need to do. Whatever COD did? Do the opposite, NOT the same. It's that easy.
NOBODY likes COD who plays BF. They're here for a nice bridge between Mil-Sim and Tactical Shooters. They want the battlefield feel, not the COD one. You're LOSING your player base by the hundreds if any of social media or associates are indications.
You modeled the game as the opposite of what COD was and then you fell right into their crap shoots.
Start with this basic thing, and YOU MIGHT recover some folks.
- Get rid of sliding. Full stop. Just gone. It's not a thing ANYWHERE in life, imaginary or otherwise. In fact, when you're leaving your office, just for **bleep** and giggles, slide out the door. "Oh. Geez. Gamer-guy on the internet is right, it f*cking hurts SO BADLY". But wait! There's MORE! It's a cheap way to destroy your game.
- Jumping. Get rid of that too. Any interface that requires climbing, let it be activated at that point. Why? Simple. NO SOLDIER on ANY BATTLEFIELD (wink wink) does it. Why? Screws your aim up. Screws your knees up. Screws your advance up. Screws everything up. Why? Cause you're jumping. That's it. It's a non-sensical movement with a weapon. Not to mention real life dangerous. Plus? It's hard to do with 80 lbs of gear. Recover some players, get rid of it.
- Fix your net-code. That is the top 3 problems you're having with player loss. I've videoed and uploaded half a dozen videos of me pelting rounds by the dozens, getting at best half the hits, and at best the server registering half of that again. It's pathetic for a AAA game to be struggling with that. I used to think it was ping, or lag, or server timing...whatever you want to call it, it needs to be addressed. If it costs money, well, that's the nature of FPS gaming.
Everything else comes secondary. Not that it's less important, but those fundamental factors NEED to be addressed first. Nobody that plays BF truly wants a Mil-Sim shooter, but they do want it to FEEL like it. It's so close guys. The trial period was so **bleep** close to perfect. A little bit of butter and you had it. You went the opposite direction and you have to walk right on back to what you had, because it's not jiving with anyone.
Nobody cares about the 12 year old kid player with mom and dad's credit card, you're gonna catch more heat with that sort of idea, stop peddling to the least effective fan base. You're gonna make ALL THE CASH EA wants if you stick to what BF IS. What it WANTS to be. What it NEEDS to be, to differentiate from the garbage that is COD. Sure, COD might be making some money, but it isn't keeping the playerbase. I don't know a single person in my associate group of over 200 folks that actually want to buy the game. It's nothing but negative talk. They don't want to buy it, play it, or see it. They definitely don't want to see the trash gameplay in a game they like suddenly emerge. That's reality of a sensible human being.
You like money right? Stick to BF gameplay. Kick 3 and 4 up if you need reminders on what that is.
Regards.
