I want people who use sniper rifles to be able to contribute to the base.

If snipers can kill enemies at bases, it would be better if their allies received buffs and could capture bases more quickly.
Currently, when using sniper rifles, snipers can only kill or spot enemies, and since they have no direct influence on bases, they are useless.

We hope that adjustments will be made so that snipers can play an active role in capturing bases.

  • Once they unlock the soflam they can distract enemies/keep them pinned down onobjectives,  spot everything, make enemy armour easier to deal with.

You don't need to charge from flag to flag to be useful.

In fact there is a change that would make them more useful, let recon select on a map where to place the drone.

Snipers do have direct influance on bases. Just not always with a sniper rifle :) Recons are vital in conquering bases in Rush/Operations/Breaktrough because that's the only class that can deploy spawn beacons. But for that a recon needs to actually push the objective (with a gun more suited for close to mid range combat) and place spawn beacon as close as possible so the squad can spawn near the objective or even inside the objective area. The motion sensor is also invaluable, because that feeds the entire team with enemy position info on the minimap. If your squad does things correctly, the recon's beacon and the motion sensor is closer and closer to the objective as the match progresses. But coming back to your opening post... Yes, traditional snipers certainly have their roles(killing medics or engineers repairing tanks for example can absolutely turn the tide), and each teams needs some, but in my opinion the magic number is like 4-5 traditional snipers not more. On top that there is still need for more recons pushing objectives and placing as many spawn beacons and motion sensors around the map as they can.. If there are too many snipers not pushing objectives it is just hurting the teams, and that is actually true for each side.

Same thing for conquest game mode. Spawn beacons and motions sensors are just as vital as in Rush/Operations/Breaktrough. And at least a sniper kill depletes one ticket. There are also more vehicles, so more targets for your c4 :)

Once the full game launches snipers will have more gadgets. Remember, you only played a beta with very limited weapons and gadgets. So don't think the only thing snipers are good for is staying behind and sniping. You already have c4 charges that is just very good in killing multiple enemies at chokepoints, taking down buildings or enemy vehicles even. You can create openings to areas surrounded by concrete fences(grenadel launcher or rpg can do it too). Or you can set up c4 traps in key locations and detonate when enemies come. We also might get the soflam that designates enemy vehicles for laser guided strikes. At least in previos BF games the recon had a soflam (skipped bf2042 so can't talk about that) so i just assume it will be the same in this one.

  • The role of the sniper is to be the overwatch so to speak.
To force the enemy to take cover or to risk being shot as well as to locate as many enemies as possible to make fighting them easier.

As it was said above, it will get much easier with a full selection of gadgets, especially that drone which I expect will do the typical spotting job
