Not been very lucky so far !

As the title suggests.

Since the launch, I have been playing on and off, trying to get some game time after work and in between other things etc.

I seem to keep being dropped into games where people are running around like crazy, almost running past you without seeing you, but still spraying bullets as they go.

Last night for example, I joined four games which seemed to rotate the same three maps over and over again. And when I did join I was either right at the back of the map so had to do Olympic track running to get to where the action is, or click on a player, spawn and die literally over and over again.

No one seems bothered about playing the objective either, and forget anyone reviving you.

And where are the Battlefield god-**bleep** maps we were promised?

And in case anyone wonders, yes, I am and have been an avid BF player for a very long time, but this series seems to have been going in the wrong direction for a long time.

Splash damage from RPG's and tanks is just pathetic. You shoot at a group of infantry in front of you and they run off ! ! !

Tanks still feel as though they are driving on black ice skidding all over the place.

Then we have some of the level up's, or tasks to get something unlocked. Some of them are just plain silly and require so much time that it actually just makes you think "I can't be bothered" and give up.

The game as it is now just does not make me want to engage with it, and quite frankly I feel this will go the way of 2042, but quicker.

I suppose we shouldn't expect anything better really, we were quite clearly lied to in their marketing hype and pre-sales advertising information. Portal, for example, they have now clearly rolled back on what they advertised and removed the XP to the point of not being worth bothering with. The same for the Bots.

Now I know there are players that seem to resent the hell out of anyone that wants to play against Bots, and I have even seen people clearly insulting others that want to play against them with comments such as "Get better at the game" or "Stop whining and grow a pair" etc etc.

However, if you clearly advertise a game as being able to play like this but then remove it, then you have misled people and advertised something falsely.

Some people just prefer to play that way with Bots, I include myself, I am not interested in playing against people that seem to have been on this since launch and not moved off the game, you know the ones I mean.

And anyone that does not comply with their rationale is just insulted again.

I want to have some fun, capturing points whilst enjoying some team work, the objectives being played, re-supplied with ammo and revived. I case anyone wonders, this is what the Bots do. The humans I have ended up with don't seem to want to do this very much, they are too engulfed in their KD scoring.

But, I suppose we shouldn't expect anything different, considering this New game seems to have been designed or finished off by COD developer people.

This is not Battlefield, it IS  C O D

  • Please see this in good faith:

You’re not ‘bad’ or ‘whining’—your brain is mourning the death of the Battlefield you loved while rage-quitting the impostor in its place.

Frustration-induced cognitive dissonance mixed with grief over a lost "golden era". In addition, Sunken-Cost Grief is also normal regarding the years and years of muscle memory wasted and not transferred to this new game.

Possible solution, is maybe go have a go of the BF version you loved for a trip down memory lane, then take a break till more content comes out (bots) and except in your own mind if your going come back your coming back to have a good go at "CODField".

You are never going to play online without the KD-obsessed players. (e.g. I've been in games with  "KD infected" friends and they laughed hard at my 0 kill 15 deaths regardless of me having a good game trying different classes and a sledge hammer out).

BF's golden era had squad-committed players, its gone. It doesn't exists anymore in any game especially for the solo/duo players. But that's not the games fault or developers fault, its the great unwashed peoples fault.

  • For the record I felt the same and this above helped me! Now I'm enjoying it at a very hit and miss level!

    WildPods Hello.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post and responding to it so eloquently.

I agree with everything you have stated, and yes, I am in mourning I think, but not just for the "Golden Era" either, I am just not that keen on the run and gun thoughtless type of playing, mixed with the bunny hopping, sliding all over the place playing technique.

I am also aware there are other Mil Sims out there, but, when they stated "We have listened and are going back to Battlefield roots" then I did have high hopes.

But alas, we have this, which is not what I was hoping it would be from what they said in the marketing and advertising.

Because I paid good money for the game, I will persevere in the hope that it does change into something at least close to what it was supposed to be.

Oh for the good old days. Reviving, Dropping ammo, Playing the objective, Trying to get an edge by Flanking, and lastly, Teamwork . . . . .

Check out old BF1942, BF2, and BF3 on YouTube—you'll spot the similarities. Then jump to BF6; in many ways, it's the same old shovel, just different dirt.

Maybe you might click, if not I can imagine we will both be back on 1943 maybe see I'll  you there.
