Not playing again until...
First of all, I'm annoyed that I have to do this because it's the first time since BF4 that I've put this many hours into a shooter. But after a few months, the situation has become frustrating, and I'm referring to:
- SBMM (Skill-Based Matchmaking): It penalizes those who play well, those who play the game like Battlefield and not like Call of Duty. They boast about saying there's no SBMM and that matchmaking is based on "ping," but I often see players from other continents in my matches (on European servers) and on my team with over 100 ping regularly. It's very blatant for them to claim or assert that SBMM doesn't exist.
- Netcoding: It's ridiculous. I can empty an entire Saiga 12 magazine at an enemy player from 5 meters away with buckshot ammo and not land a single shot. The best part is that they end up killing you in just 3 shots. Not to mention when you get killed a full second after you've already reached cover...
- Excessively small maps: They're trying to attract the Call of Duty market without considering the regular player. The map boundaries are ridiculous; it's not enjoyable playing with jets.
- Servers: Random maps, and I always end up repeating the "defender" role (I like playing Rush), since there's no proper rotation.
- Game challenges: They're absurd, ridiculous tasks that barely relate to the class they represent, and they're poorly balanced (I've almost completed them all, so I'm not complaining just to complain).
- Weapons: Poorly balanced. They don't even bother balancing them like they did in BF3.
Obviously, I'm not mentioning any of the bugs the game still has to this day because those things have practically become normal, but if I wanted to, I could make a huge list of them.
And I know I'm not the first one to complain about all this, and that's the problem—the veteran community isn't being heard. I remind you that the successful formula for this game was precisely going back to the old Battlefield formula.
That said, I remind you that on Steam, the player count has dropped below 100k, which means that by summer it could fall below 50k, despite having had historic highs of over 700k without Redsec. Any company that doesn't listen to its community is doomed to fail.
