I played some more hours on the beta today and i just like the open weapon system way more.
I mostly play Assault but when i think a Support or Engineer is needed i switch and help out my team. In one single match i have Revives on squad/team, Multiple tank/vehicle kills, Resupply squad/team, Vehicle repairs, Multiple Captures and Infantry kills.
If the weapon system is closed i will not switch at all because i don't like lmg's or smg's. I will help out my team less and only go for assault kills, Captures and squad revives.
So if you play Battlefield as you should be playing it, The open weapon system can be very helpful and tactical.
The whole gen z thing is nonsense. It's not about being able to choose everything otherwise you have no complete freedom so you're not happy or whatever that statement is.
Most that want an open weapon system just have issues with playstyles/behavior of certain players and want to eliminate it through this way. Surprise... There will always be players that play the game in a way you will not like and they also will always find other ways to do so regardless of a open or closed system.
You’d still have carbines. That’s what they’re there for. That’s where the balance comes in.

If i switch classes In-game depending on what the team needs i do have to get used to a new weapon every single time.
Im not bad in Battlefield at all, most of the matches ill end top 5. I just can't and want to remind 3 different recoil patterns. So if the system is closed i will be way less of a team player.

I understand that, but that’s just how things work in games. There’s restrictions to balance gameplay. The difference is where you draw the line. You prefer more freedom, but that will ultimately come at a cost, potentially it might lead to overpowered loadouts. The more freedom you have, the bigger that risk becomes.
In my personal experience, the class system, with it’s weapon restrictions has a proven trackrecord. It has always worked really well in previous installments. We also know that the specialist system doesn’t work well. So I prefer the system with a proven trackrecord instead of them playing around trying to fix something that isn’t broken.

Good points and i agree.
But In-game i had no issues with the open weapon system. I had many moments with great squad/teamplay.
On these close quarter maps i have not been sniped at all and on "peak" ones a recon gets spotted it's going down in minutes. I had many tank or heli plays where i killed the spotted recon and the spawn beacon with it.
For the other classes i also had no issues yet, maybe ones there are more gadgets etc it will be different but thats something to balance out for the developers.
If it the system would be closed i feel like they should change the classes all together. The Assault class is worthless then, the injector i hardly use, grenade launcher does not have enough damage/radius and ammo. The support feels to complicated with nothing in return.
