Have just over 50h on PS5 and have played with both controller and m/k.
Have gamed on both PC and console since mid 90's and even though I got my controller memory quite tuned in, it's not even comparable to m/k input.
It's night and day difference, and it's only so much aim assist can help. It doesn't come close to the accuracy of mouse aim as there is no ramp up/aim curve on mouse. It's pretty much instant. You point, you shoot. Controller has ramp up, delay with stick travel and so on.
I could of course just use K/M om PS5, but that defeats the purpose of me being lazy and prefer my stressless! :P
This perfectly confirms my opinion about controller players — whether on PC or console. When I was still a kid, the last thing I played on was a brand-new PS3 and Xbox 360, until I finally got a PC. That was a turning point like getting a driver’s license plus your first car: suddenly free, more control, more possibilities. Since then, it’s clear: mouse and keyboard are more precise and better, but also more demanding. And that’s exactly the problem: most console players don’t want that challenge, yet they complain about insufficient aim assist.
It’s like refusing to learn how to ride a bike, but wanting to compete in the Tour de France — and because you can’t keep up on a tricycle, you demand an electric motor as a special privilege. And even if you get a strong, unfair e-motor (aim assist), you start complaining the moment you still have to pedal occasionally yourself (so actually aim a little on your own). What an embarrassment.
But fine, I understand — and because I don’t want to deal with your lazy, unfair aim assist anymore, I’m appealing as a PC/mouse-and-keyboard player to the developers: please separate us once and for all. The standard should not be what you play on (PC or console), but what you play with (mouse/keyboard or controller).
Cheat each other to death if you want — I hope you get a “battle-assist” that runs, jumps, aims, shoots, and revives for you, so you can fully focus on chips and sandwiches during your record-breaking round. Just please leave us “manual players,” who want to control 100% ourselves, in peace. Thank you.
