[QOL Suggestion] Revive Sound-Cue for Downed Friendlies.
Hello Friends,
Allow me to First introduce myself as someone who has played exclusively as the "medic" role in whatever capacity it was iterated in since BF2. Collectively I have accrued nearly 500K revives since then but a huge bulk of those came during my time in BF2042 - 200K to be specific.
After spending 5000 Hours in that game (don't ask) then transitioning over to BF6, I noticed I missed revives that were not directly in my line of sight very frequently because of the ridiculous time-to-action and intensity not allowing me enough down-time to scan around me and pick up friendlies. I hate letting people down when I could've picked them up had I had a better way of knowing they were there.
One of the few things BF2042 did well was having a very clear and distinct sound cue when friendlies were downed and another for when they requested revive; and while yes the latter gets annoying when a friendly spams requests, I almost never missed a feasible revive, ending most games with 30-50 average.
The sound cue feature is possible because its present in redsec when a squadmate is downed, it just needs to be implemented into the multiplayer. My suggestion is to have this feature as an option opt-in QOL for medics.
A switch under the Audio Tab labelled "Revive Cues" that when turned on has further options such as:
- Volume
- Squad Mates Downed Only vs All Friendlies Downed near you
- Radius; similar to minimap - narrow radius only gives you a cue when someone dies within 10 meters and wide can be up to 50
- Independent options to have either only squad revive requests audible or all friendlies requests audible.
I believe this simple option which they clearly already have the tech for would be a significant improvement to the QOL for dedicated medics who want to keep people up, and would help improve teamwork.
What do you think?
