Server Population Issue in Australia (Xbox), Too Many Empty Servers

Hi team, i’m from Australia and play on Xbox, and I want to highlight a major issue with server population. There are more than 20 conquest servers running, but most of them are almost empty or filled with bots. When I search for a match, it connects instantly in about 5 seconds but usually puts me into a server with only 2 or 3 real players. After each match, I have to exit and rejoin over and over (sometimes 10 times or more) just to find one fully populated server. It’s really frustrating, especially when it feels like all active players are spread out across multiple near empty servers. If these players were grouped together, we could easily have 2 or 3 full servers running all the time. This problem seems to affect Australia and other less populated regions the most. Please look into this issue, it means a lot to players who genuinely want to keep enjoying the game

  • Yeah, I’m having the exact same problem too. I’m also in  south Africa  on playstation and matchmaking is just a mess right now. It connects super quick, but almost every time it throws me into a server with barely any real players and mostly bots.It gets so annoying having to back out and rejoin over and over just to find one proper full server — sometimes it takes like 10 tries. And then after a match ends, everyone gets split up again so you have to start the whole process all over.

Totally agree that if the game just grouped the active players together instead of spreading us across so many empty servers, we’d actually have a few solid lobbies running all the time. Hope DICE sees this because it’s killing the fun for players in smaller regions.

The servers you can see are only Portal mode servers, not standard mode server browsers. This situation also occurs on the PS5 platform in Asia, where players are split into different servers to battle against bots. This matchmaking mechanism requires a large player base to function effectively. In Asia, the PC player base is massive, while in Europe, the PS5 player base is substantial. However, in other regions, the game has essentially become a battle against bots. I have also posted about this issue, requesting the addition of standard mode server browsing, just like in Battlefield 4, Battlefield 1, and Battlefield V, so that players can choose servers themselves and gather together. Unfortunately, DICE has not responded.

Im in New Zealand and have just finished 2 rounds will filled up 64 player servers of aus/nz players on conquest  and its 2am in the morning. Put crossplay on and set Oceania for your location choice. Gotta be something youve set or not set to not be able to find all the Lads in Au/nz

This matching model, which simply copies Call of Duty's approach, is not suitable for Battlefield. Call of Duty has far fewer players per match, making it easier to fill lobbies. Retaining players is the key to attracting new ones. Enabling cross-play between PS5 and Xbox and adding a server browser for standard modes would be the best solution. The current matching system is nothing but a cost-saving measure for DICE, offering no advantage to players.
