The number of BF6 players continues to decline.

According to the latest information, the average number of active players on the Steam (PC) platform has fallen again, to approximately 1/6 of the original maximum number of players.

I can more or less confirm this decline. I see a similar trend among my community of teammates on the Steam + EA app (PC) platform. Two months ago, my teammates were still playing BF6 every day. Now, some of them have returned to playing BFV daily. (BF2042 has fallen into oblivion.) However, about half of my teammates play the BF series anymore. They now play BF6 about once every 1-2 weeks.

According to feedback from teammates, the cause is unfulfilled expectations. Specifically, that the developers will adapt the game to the style they were used to in BF1, BFV, BF4, and BF3. This mainly concerns TTD, which DICE promised to revise but has still not changed the situation. None of the teammates hope that the situation will change. Players are simply tired of the stressful short TTD. That's why most of them don't play the game or play previous parts of the game instead.

DICE's stance on the possibility of turning off cross-play for PC players, which it stubbornly refuses to do, has also contributed significantly to the departure of players. Here again, there is frustration from the feeling of excessive advantage for players with controllers.

Finally, there are also some maps and the game content itself, which is minimal. Some of the current game maps are still a pain for infantry. People want to relax while playing, not stress out. Again, this could be fixed by adjusting the TTD, but no one is hoping for that anymore.

Thanks for your response. I am connected to the internet via an optical cable with a response time of around 6 ms and very low latency of max. 12 ms. Honestly, I don't notice any lag either. However, sometimes the game freezes completely for a few seconds and then starts up again. This also happens to my teammates. Well, those who are still left. :-) However, this is more of a frequent occurrence than a regular problem.

I completely agree. I remember the TTK/TTD change in BFV, and I know that the community response was overwhelming. That's why I'm afraid of a similar scenario, that TTK/TTD will not change in BF6 either. This is despite the fact that a significant part of the community has been calling for change from the very beginning. Some also called it a slowdown of the game.

Great TTK/TTD is the main reason why BFV is still being played despite its prematurely ended support and lack of content in the game. The situation is similar with BF1. It also has great TTK/TTD, unlike games such as CoD.
In contrast, BF2042 is slowly fading into history because it has "bad" TTK/TTD settings, similar to BF6 now. But that's even shorter.
I'm very sorry to see my teammates returning to BFV or not playing at all. They don't want to stress out and just complain about the game. They want to enjoy the game instead. The new BF6 game looks amazing, sounds great, and has the best game mechanics of all previous editions of the game. However, BF6 lacks the main thing that makes a game great, and that is relaxed gameplay.

I understand that the developers can't please everyone, that's unrealistic. However, this problem annoys just about everyone. It's impossible to estimate whether the same weapon and the same player will kill me in a millisecond, or whether I'll have time to react to the shot. Every situation is different, and TTK/TTD is extremely short. Add to that poor visibility and confusing city maps with accessible rooftops.
Finally, players with controllers ruin the game with their reduced weapon recoil and aim assist, and as a PC player, I can't turn off cross-play.

It's a shame that DICE is so passive about these issues.

Agree the devs need to be more decisive. They have a huge team yet it seems to take them forever to even sort out simple issues like the sledgehammer drone exploit and patches are still breaking the game. Its make or break now they really need to get season 2 out next week as well as chopping a good few bugs off their list. Their current level of content and fixes is just insufficient for a game of this scale

I have to agree with what you have said. I play this every chance I get, and my main concern is the lag in the game. I have done everything to clean up on my end, and it helps for a game or so, after that, it's back to the same issues. I'm wired to my internet 5G modem, using an Acer Nitro V 15 FHD @165Hz, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050, and a MSI G32C4 Optix gaming monitor @165Hz. I do not mind the lag here and there, but through out the matches. I really do not know how many times I have to reset / restart my lap top or game, but enough is enough, it's annoying. The Dev's have to fix this bug / issue. I love playing this game a lot, but my stress levels are through the roof. Can you fix these issues so more people will enjoy it more?

I remember the patch and the experiment where DICE changed the speed of TTK/TTD in BFV and the community revolted over the insta-ttk. Any high ROF weapon dominated in close and mid range engagements which is where most of the action is when trying to flip a capture point. DICE had to roll that back because the player base was furious and openly rejected the changes BEFORE they changed it in a patch.

I absolutely knew that they used this opportunity for a test run and would either sneak it back into the game with a future update or make the new TTK/TTD model the standard for their next game which turned out to be 2042 with an inherited faster TTK/TTD.

I am not holding my breath for TTD to match TTK and I am not waiting for them to give PC players the option to disable crossplay. I have spoken by joining the masses in uninstalling BF6 and started playing Arc Raiders with my two boys.
