Time to walk away I guess. Sad.

I liked this game a lot. I've got just shy of 250Hrs into it.

I played the beta, got hyped with the boys. We jumped back into BF4 until launch. I thought it seemed pretty good at launch. Most of the things I saw complained about seemed like either obvious easy fixes or just non-battlefield player complaints. I knew we hadn't seen the Battlepass and monetization strategy yet. I was cautiously optimistic. This was a mistake.

Season one dropped, The ad's started, 30GB's of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) was injected into the game. The skins became more varied and less grounded, movement was buffed a bit, the community became more familiar with the exploits so they appeared in nearly every game. The CoD style K/D padding got everyone to stop playing objectives. Every game ended with players blaming their teammates for the loss. I hated all this, but I managed to ignore the skins. I ignored the BR mode and everything associated with it. I ignored the ad's and the battlepass they shoehorned into this $100(CND) base price game. I didn't like the movement tweaks, but the game was still fun to play.

Now, November 18, 2025. We get a limited time FOMO trap event. No bother to me, I don't have the battlepass, it hardly adds anything. If you bought the battlepass so you could use one of the any-class characters on PAX, well, now for just $26.99 you can get one for NATO too! What a bargain! Lest we should keep thing grounded, these are plain clothes dudes with plate carriers and flannel, some even have helmets! Maybe the dev team doesn't know why uniforms exist? Why militaries use them? But that's all superficial garbage. That's just rage bait. What's killed it for me is the new movement tweaks and the bloom nerfs. I can mag dump AR's at long range and wipe squads, no trouble at all. I can sprint around and  push doorways solo with the M240L, snap fire onto suckers ez-peasy. It's dull, it's soul-less, it's CoD. There is no reason to play with your squad. They're just potentially better spawn points. You can 1-man-army this junk. That is, until a cowboy-wannabe with a giant belt-buckle wipes you off the earth with a hand-held minigun. The atmosphere is ruined. I can ignore a lot, this is too much. A grounded shooter this is not. I saw they added pickups, a railgun (again? why!?!), I assumed it was BR only, I only wish.

The game's fundamentally changed. I feel I got rug-pulled for $100. If I could refund I would and wash my hands of it. I hope we see some course correction in the future but for now I'm out.

Rant over, sorry it was so long but I could have easily doubled this and still left things out if I really got into it.
