High Ping (115ms+) & LAT VAR Spikes Due to No Middle East Servers
Hello Battlefield Team,
I'm posting this to report a networking issue affecting players in the Middle East, specifically Kuwait.
Battlefield currently has no dedicated Middle East servers, so we're forced to connect to either European or Asian servers. Unfortunately, both are geographically far away, resulting in consistently high latency and unstable gameplay.
Current experience:
Location: Kuwait
Average Ping: 115 ms or higher
LAT VAR frequently spikes up to 25 ms
Noticeable jitter and inconsistent hit registration
Overall multiplayer experience is unstable
To make sure the problem wasn't on my end, I've already tried:
- Multiple ISPs
- Different routers and network configurations
- Different DNS providers
- Wired Ethernet connection
- ExitLag to optimize routing
Even after all of these tests, my ping remains above 115 ms, and the LAT VAR still spikes. This suggests the main issue is the lack of nearby Battlefield servers rather than my local connection.
I would appreciate it if the Battlefield networking team could investigate routing for players in the Middle East and consider adding dedicated servers in the region (such as Bahrain, UAE, or Saudi Arabia). If dedicated servers are not currently planned, improving routing to existing servers would still make a significant difference.
Battlefield is an amazing game, but the lack of nearby servers makes it difficult for players in our region to enjoy a smooth and competitive experience.
If you're also playing from the Middle East and experiencing similar ping or LAT VAR issues, please comment below with your country and your average ping so EA can better understand how widespread this issue is.
Thank you.
