[EA App] Sign in With Your EA Account Error

Why am I suddenly getting this 

1. I did not play the game on EA Play or EA Play Pro subscriptions

2. I cannot resize or get to the password box

3. The last time it appeared, I clicked on the X and closed it, and the game would play and run after restarting the EA App on the PC.  I do not get bonus content pop up any more so no Deluxe and Pre-order content appearing, possibly connected

 

If anyone has an answer, I would love to know how to prevent this from occurring

    To be on the safe side, I will try.

    1. Uninstall Dragon Age Veilguard
    2. Close EA App
    3. Restart EA App
    4. I get some issues loading parts of the EA App, just like Cantiras  does (see post above). Control+R helps reload that part of the EA App.
    5. Get the "renew EA Play" popup and close it
    6. Download and reinstall Dragon Age Veilguard  


    The theory is that if there was a bug in the EA App and account licencing, and it installed an "EA Play" copy of the game and DLC rather than the "non-EA Play" copy as it should have done the latter, the EA App interface might default to "EA Play" versions of the games by default.   

    Then, the issue is in the EA App itself and account servers regarding the switching between licencing formats, and this is no different from a similar issue Adobe had when switching from client-based product licencing to Software as a Service (SaaS) product licencing. 

    [UPDATE] the above has worked , and marked as a solution

    I also received the "your membership has expired" message today (for EA Play Pro); my last EA Play subscription ran out at the end of March 2021. EA app has also had issue recently with reliably loading pages (notice the missing images with the exception of the EA Play reminder); this is not due to a firewall or Internet connectivity issue.

     

  • To update 

    I did have an EA Play subscription, which has recently expired,  as I have received pop-ups in the EA App on my PC telling me this. 

    1. asking if I want to renew
    2. saying which games will be removed from my game library 

    This, though, should not interfere with  Dragon Age Veilguard, as this DAV game was purchased outright.

    The Chest is not spawning.

     

    This should not be causing problems on the account , if it is EA needs to fix it

      I thought this could be related as well! I had the same pop up asking me to renew my subscription come up many times during this year (I don't recall ever subscribing though) so it might very well be related to EA Play. However I did subscribe for a month about 2 weeks ago just to see if it would fix this issue but it didn't (I didn't subscribe to the Pro version though so it might be different?). So who knows but this really could be a reason for the DLC not working for some of us.

      Could anyone else chime in and tell us if you also see the "renew EA Play" pop up on the EA App and if the DLC is working or not?

      And for you Aurali_slp was the DLC working for your other saves but then this pop up showed up and it stopped working for all of them?

        Like you, I had an EA Play subscription running, but it was unrelated to fixing anything in Dragon Age Veilguard.

        My observations are 

        1. As far as I know, my account still had time left on EA Play when Dragon Age Veilguard was released.
        2. I have the same issue as everyone else with the DLC not working.
        3. Then, randomly, the DLC worked for Dragon Age Veilguard
        4. Then, the "renew EA Play" pop-up 
        5. A message about X content was removed from my EA App Library ( Sims 3, etc.) but not Dragon Age Veilguard.
        6. I started getting occasional log-ins to active Dragon Age Veilguard pop-ups when launching the game.
        7. The DLC has not been working since I started getting this pop-up "renew EA Play" or "log in to active Dragon Age Veilguard."


        Thankfully, the characters with working DLC content ( pre-order and deluxe) still have it working, but I cannot get it working for any new "Rooks" I create.

        This is starting to become very, very annoying for me game immersion-wise, "Blood Dragon Armor" (BDA) is a super secret club that my MCs are part of, where the first rule of the BDA club is " you don't talk about BDA".  The MCs and BDA members are deployed to save Thedas from threats no one else can.



  • The only two things I have done recently to my system are 

    1. Update Windows 11  from 23H2 to 24H2 ( also a Windows repair install and keeping all my data, for other reasons)
    2. Update AMD GPU drivers

     

    I did not have to reinstall my EA App or Games

    These are the only recent changes made between working "pre-order and deluxe" DLC content and for it to suddenly stop again.

    So far, I believe it to be a coincidence.

    Aurali_slp EA Play can actually cause these types of issues depending on which version of EA Play you currently had or have. For example, you had the game (no extra content) sub'd to EA Play which provided the content. Then you started a game, and that save would have all of the content, so if the sub expired, that save file, DLC, etc you cannot use. Not saying that is what happened but that is how EA Play works and how it can cause issues

    Questions:
    Do you have EA Play active now?
    Have any other accounts logged into that PC, or do you have any other accounts with the game/DLC or EA Play?
    Do you have the EA app and the game all on the same drive?

      I think the issue of the DLC not working even when installed is an issue with people who may have had EA play before or after getting the game. Do you have any idea when this issue will be fixed as nothing seems to be working to get this fixed on my end.

      Aurali_slpIt's good to see it's working for you again but I'm not sure this is a permanent fix as the "renew membership" pop up comes up randomly and I think the next time you see this message it might mean the DLC is not working again for you. Please let me know if this is the case or not. 

      I've tried this before and it didn't work for me. When I installed DATV the first time I did not have a running subscription so I don't think uninstalling and reinstalling would do anything for me at this point.

        I sympathise with your struggles with the DLC not working for you, and I appreciate that my solution might not work for others at all.  As I believe in sharing knowledge as part of my paid job, I thought it would be good to share the solution with everyone on this forum in case it works for others.

        In my case, I took a gamble regarding the reinstall of my game on the basis that;   

        • I work four days a week as an IT Manager in my paid job. I have significant IT knowledge, from CPU architecture to programming OOP and some DRM and software licencing knowledge.

        Therefore, it was relatively straightforward for me to generate the list of steps to reinstall DATV, which I did with confidence that it would have a 90% chance of success, knowing I had forced the EA App to show me the "renew EA Play" popup before reinstalling DATV.

      I appreciate your point, and I am aware of the scenario, but based on my context below, that should not be happening at all.

      Questions:

      1. Do you have EA Play active now?  => No 
      2. Have any other accounts logged into that PC, or do you have any other accounts with the game/DLC or EA Play? => No
      3. Do you have the EA app and the game all on the same drive? => EA App installed on C:\ drive, Games installed in F:\ Drive, just noticed my EA App settings were incorrect for " Downloads => Install Location "  [ thank you for prompting me to check ]



      Dragon Age Veilguard was bought outright ( see images below ), so if my inactive EA Play subscription has affected my game licensing and DLC content, this is a bug on your end.
