- @LufBRBR EA Play as part of Game Pass is coming next year. Please see the pinned topic: https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion/Update-on-EA-Play-Coming-to-Xbox-Game-Pass-for-PC-in-2021/m-p/9859943
but now what i need to do to have the ea play ?
Says the same for me.
I am already paying a xbox game pass subscription and EA Desktop beta app does not recognise my subscription, but asks me to pay pay again.
EA account now shows xbox account is linked, but still wont recognise subscription so I cannot play any EA Play games with Xbox Game Pass.
Pretty close to cancelling all Microsoft and EA linked subscriptions and just stick to my steam catalogue backlog.Same issue as @UberNorman with same setup
Wanted to try out SW: Squadrons, but I guess I'll stick to Steam instead.
The only thing I can think of... I'm using a different Xbox Live account than my Microsoft Store account.My suspicion is that Microsoft doesn't know how to handle such a situation and this just doesn't work.
@UberNorman is that the case for you too?
My brother had the same issue, with different xbox live and microsoft store accounts too. I think opening EA desktop through the Xbox app might have done the trick.
"The only thing I can think of... I'm using a different Xbox Live account than my Microsoft Store account. "
I had a similar suspicion this end. Microsoft Win10 account is linked to the Windows store and likewise to Xbox beta game client through windows. I used to have an xbox360 along time ago with the exact same username, probably even the same password as the account I'm using now.
However, Xbox on PC says I'm using another account care to switch?
If I do that my subscription is no longer valid as it is tied to the account I have games on and am paying for (with the exact same verifiable username to the same email account).
Still no fix and I can't play any EA pass title to date with xbox subscription.
Bad clients are bad regardless of how many name changes they go through.- thiagopdantas5 years agoSeasoned Traveler
I'm having the same problem.
- I have my correct accounts linked;- The Xbox app on Windows see that I have Game Pass + EA Play;
- I can install EA Play games through the Xbox app;
- When I try to launch the game it opens the EA Desktop app and ask to buy the game;
- The EA Desktop app says "Join EA Play" like if I'm not subscribed.
Any workarounds or a method to skip EA Desktop?
The prints are in Portuguese but is the same as described, game pass says I have EA play, EA desktop say otherwise. Could you solve it?

Hi @ThiagoPDantas,
Are you sure that you are logged in with the correct EA account? Some players get their accounts mixed up and end up logging in with an account that is not linked to their Xbox account.
If you are logged in with the correct account, then please clear the cache of EA Desktop via App Recovery, uninstall it and reinstall EA Desktop through the Xbox app.
@Zeroo_Sp What kind of issue are you having?
so just to be clear, if you have games pass ultimate through microsoft store account, and a different account on xbox app, you cant play games on EA desktop? even though on the xbox app I have the option to "INSTALL" game.... no wonder some people dont even bother with EA games.
