so we windows 7 users are left out now ? that’s extremely unfair, i’m literally forced to buy a new pc to play sims just bc sims doesn’t start without the ea launcher that just works with windows 10/11, thanks EA

Just FYI, the EA App no longer supports win 7. The current March 2026 App update requires win 10+. It will download but will not apply because win 7 OS doesn't have the Win 10+ OS that allows the application of the update. Win 7 users are effectively locked out of the App when the games they own don't require Win 10 to play (mass effect series, dragon age series, sims).

I am on Windows 7. I accept that it's likely I just need a newer computer. I'm just disappointed because the EA app was working just a day ago. I saved and exited The Sims 4 yesterday and suddenly the EA app was no longer working. All my games are still installed, but now I can't play them.

that’s odd because it worked a few weeks ago.

EA_Aljo SteamOS (Linux, Steam Deck OLED) The EA App itself does work on Steam Deck (I am currently on the EA App right now, playing The Sims 4 via Steam, installing The Sims 4 Horse Ranch) but currently, attempting to *install the EA App itself* is glitched out at the moment.

What operating system are you all on?

If you’re responding to me, I don’t use Windows 7. I’m on Steam Deck and I’m having the error codes I previously mentioned (INST-21-25005, and INST-14-1627) and I was able to previously install Mass Effect Andromeda with no issues, The Sims 4 as well, and all of a sudden after an uninstall, Mass Effect Andromeda won’t run via Steam because the EA App is failing at installation. It looks like others have the exact same issue as well so it is not exclusive to me or the Steam Deck.

Yes. I've done all the steps. I disabled the firewall and it didn't install, same error. I updated anything that could be updated. I've run the installer countless times at this point, all as administrator just to be sure. I'm at a loss of what to do.

Hello. I'm very sorry to say, Windows 7 is not officially supported so we can't offer any help for it.

EA_Aljo Hi there, I’ve tried them but none of them worked, I still get error code INST-21-25005 or INST-14-1627.
