@ImB1ind I resolve the issue, I had to reinstall the EA desktop app, the games install via EA desktop app didn't get affected, it was easy and after I log in in the app, the games were available to play.

Same problem here. I have not Uninstalled Origin, could that be causing the issue?

I got this message today. This is an impossible app to use. Switching back to Origin. At least it's problems are mostly solvable

@ImB1ind I resolve the issue, I had to reinstall the EA desktop app, the games install via EA desktop app didn't get affected, it was easy and after I log in in the app, the games were available to play.

Almost every single time I boot up EA desktop I get: "The server encountered a mysterious error, try again at a later time." This error message is so frequent it makes desktop nearly unusable.
This is been going on for several weeks now and I am fed up with it. If anybody has encountered this and found a fix, please let me know.

Hi @PeleMeleXD,

Encountering issue like these is never a fun experience, but luckily there are some troubleshooting steps that you can perform:

Run the EA app as an administrator

Clear the cache via Help > App Recovery > Clear cache

Temporarily disable your firewall/ant-virus or make an exception for the EA app

After you performed these steps, then please let me know if they worked or not.

well i downloaded ea launcher while keeping old and run repair it seems after doing repair and downloading stuff the ea desktop opened again

Solution is simple:
Open start menu
Search for services
Locate "EABackgroundService"
Right-click it
on General tab, you'll see "Startup type:" make it "Automatic"
Press Ok
Launch the EAdesktop again
This should work fine

great thanks, somehow the service went to disabled. I played a game in EA even 10 days ago, some how the service is disabled. now set it to auto. its solved the issue, Thanks

Had the same issue today. Ran XBOX GAME PASS FOR PC, attempting to launch EA PLAY:
"something went wrong and the service failed to start"
Been away on holiday for a few days and powered down the house. Eventually discovered my PC BIOS clock was 6th March 2022 at 17:30, while actual date time was 10th March 2022 at 16:30 BST.
I updated the BIOS TIME (Windows OS time then updated) , launched EA PLAY , issue resolved. Guess I need a new battery for my mainboard clock.
EA PLAY clearly struggling to connect to external services when OS and Service times dont align. Really frustrating trying to isolate the issue but got there in the end. Both EA support and MS support are very poor when it comes to supporting game pass and EA Play apps and services.
