Can't launch Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
About two years ago, I purchased the game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on Steam. I wasn't able to play it, I don't recall exactly why, but when I clicked play on Steam, it would open the EA app, and then there was an error message. I contacted EA Help at the time, and they were able to fix it so I could play it. I was able to open the game directly from the EA app, and didn't need to use Steam.
A few days ago, I tried to play the game for the first time in a year. When I opened the EA app I saw a message that said games had been removed from my account. The reason given was:
Your Xbox Game Pass subscription has ended. Renew your subscription to continue playing.
I had a subscription to Xbox Game Pass for the month of January this year. However, I bought Fallen Order outright - through Steam - and it is not linked to any subscription.
I contacted EA Help twice in two days. They couldn't help. When I contacted today EA Help for the third time, I saw that the reason had been updated, and the date had changed to the first day I contacted EA Help. The reason the game was removed now reads:
Your EA Play membership has ended. Buy the game or renew your membership to continue playing.
I note also that the game shows as being installed in the EA app, but I can't remove it. There is an error icon in the bottom right corner of the game icon, which states:
An incompatible version of this game is installed on your device. Uninstall the EA app version to launch.
So far I have tried:
Clearing the cache in the EA app
Uninstalling the EA app
Uninstalling and reinstalling the game in Steam
I am growing increasingly frustrated with the lack of help from the ironically named EA Help. How can I play this game?
