The EA app persistently throws errors and requires restarts when in offline mode, making offline mode completely unusable for my single player games. The EA app will not stay offline for more than a couple of hours before it encounters some kind of connection error that forces a restart. It shouldn't try to connect to anything when it is offline mode, so I don't understand what is happening.
When I go offline, I persistently get an error that says:
Couldn't connect to servers
We'll keep trying to reconnect you....
I don't want it to try and reconnect me. I want to stay in offline mode. Is there a setting to make the app understand that I don't want it to try and reconnect? Is that the problem?
I am not running a VPN. I run EA app as an admin. Per a suggestion from this forum, I tried resetting my firewall settings to default. I tried turning off settings in Sims 4 for auto downloading in case that was causing the app to go looking for a connection.
While in offline mode, if I leave my game open, it eventually crashes and the EA app requires me to go online so that I can play my game. Turning off my wifi does not help. Restarting while still offline does not help.
The app crashes in offline mode and then forces me to go online so that I can go back into offline mode.
The EA app effectively does not have an offline mode. It has a "crash the app and force online" mode.
My sisters and I bond over playing Sims 4 and we have a trip planned in a few months where we wanted to do some build challenges on our laptops. But, we might not have internet where we're going. We can't have a good time bonding over stupid Sims 4 builds without a working offline mode in the EA app.
What demon do I need to summon or politician do I need to bribe to get offline mode to work?
