EA App keeps crashing/won't open and Sims 4 won't open.

Hi! For the last couple of days, every time I try to play The Sims, my game will not open. I moved it off the external drive, thinking that was the problem, and it opened once. It hasn't opened since. Now I'm having the same issue with the EA App. I play on a mac so when i click on the app it bounces in the dock and starts to load for a few seconds then nothing happens, but my computer seems to think it is running in the background. I have force-quit the app and restarted my computer multiple times, but nothing has worked. Please help I would really like to play my game!!! :(
