EA App Overlay not showing up on Jedi Survivor

Product: The EA app
Platform:PC
Error Report ID (learn how to create an Error Report ID in the sticky post)
Which client functionality are you experiencing this bug with? Social Panel
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) All the time
Summarize your bug When playing Jedi Survivor, i can't open the EA Overlay. I can for It Takes Two so i know it works. I have steam overlay, Nvidia overlay, and discord overlay disabled. Is this part of the reason my achievements aren't working? I've tried getting them to work with them all disabled. This is my last ditch effort.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Launch the game and press shift+f1
What happens when the bug occurs? Nothing
What do you expect to see? The f*cking overlay

Please god help. I'm tired of the achievements not working and I don't wanna play more because I'm scared they won't be retroactive.

  • This is quite annoying to be honest and strange they did not notice this before release during game testing. I have not seen an issue with getting achievements, I simply don't see them pop during game play so don't know they were earned but I do have them after I exit and return to EA App they are listed for what i have unlocked. Also without the overlay no friends chat.

    Hopefully they fix this quickly.

@hicksdk314 Hey, see if the following steps help with this one

    For Windows

    • Press the Windows key + R, go into the file explorer
    • Type in %temp%, and hit Enter
    •  Delete everything it allows you to delete
    • Reboot your PC

EA App's Cache (Top Left Menu > Help > App Recovery)

EA App - Repair (My Collection > Tile Dots > Repair)

@EA_Shepard   I have followed ALL the above steps and the issue still persists, also I tried Un-installing/Re-installing the game to different drives. Overlay doesn't want to toggle on at all whatsoever... please, advise many thanks.

@TTVCobbyHQ Has it always been grayed out like that? It should not be at all.

Here are some steps to run through if you have not yet to test them out just in case.

    • EA App's Cache (Top Left Menu > Help > App Recovery)
    • Go to C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop and double-click on EAUpdater.exe

    Additional Steps

    Delete Windows Temp Files

    • First, make sure you close as many programs as you can
    • Press the Windows key + R, go into the file explorer
    • Type in %temp%, and hit Enter
    • Delete everything it allows you to delete
    • Reboot the PC

Last, just uninstall and reinstall the EA app. Make sure the game and app are on the same drive and not different drives.
