EA APP WON'T DOWNLOAD

I clicked on the EA APP and a pop up appears that said "DOWNLOADING", after a few seconds it gave me an error and so on. After playing around with deleting cache and flushing dns, I decided to uninstall the app.

I'm trying to reinstall it by going into the ea website but every time I press download app, windows download... it gives me this message "origin-a.akamaihd.net took too long to respond.". I tried playing around with the permissions, disabling my security, and even tried downloading it from an alternative site which when I thought could work but then it kept on giving me a different download error...

Has anyone had this issue before? check out the attachment below.

    Hi BenAyve ,

Thanks for the details. A message that mentions origin-a.akamaihd.net taking too long to respond usually means your PC or network is having trouble reaching the download host/CDN that serves the EA app installer. That can be caused by DNS, a proxy/VPN, firewall/security filtering, router settings, or an ISP routing issue.

Please only download the EA app from the official EA website (https://www.ea.com/ea-app). I would not recommend using alternative download sites, as the installers they offer may be outdated or unsafe.

    Could you try the following?

    1. Test on a different network
      • If possible, try downloading the EA app using a mobile hotspot.
      • If it works there, the issue is likely with your home network, router, ISP, DNS, or filtering setup.
    2. Turn off VPN/proxy/network filtering
      • Disable any VPN, proxy, custom DNS filtering, Pi-hole, ad blocker DNS, or antivirus web protection temporarily while testing.
      • Then try the download again.
    3. Reset network/DNS on Windows
Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run:
      1. ipconfig /flushdns
      2. netsh winhttp reset proxy
      3. netsh winsock reset
      4. Then restart your PC.
    4. Try a different DNS
You can test with a public DNS such as Cloudflare 1.1.1.1/1.0.0.1 or Google 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4, then restart the browser and try downloading the EA app again.
    5. Check firewall/security allow-listing
Make sure your firewall, antivirus, router, or network filter is not blocking EA domains or Akamai/CDN traffic.

If the download still fails, please let us know whether it works on a mobile hotspot and whether other devices on the same network get the same timeout. That will help narrow down whether the block is on the PC or the network/ISP side.
