Hello,As the title says the Star Wars Jedi : Fallen Order doesn't launch from steam with the new EA app since it completely overwrites Origin and uninstalls it, and the app itself doesn't have the game on my account.Yes, i have triple checked and yes it is within the same account i'm writing this topic from.

I got it to work by going to:C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Fallen Order\SwGame\Binaries\Win64And then double clicking:SwGame-Win64-Shipping.exeI haven't worked out how to change the Steam shortcut to point to the .exe file though.

I FINALLY Fixed it. I went off the hunch I got it could be a registry problem and just started digging through the registry options for EA App, Steam, and this thing for "Respawn" I found. I ended up finding this install script in the game's directory called installScript.vdf. and opening it revealed it to be setting a bunch of registry options for the game. Specifically, one of the directories is "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Respawn\\Jedi Fallen Order\\" where it sets the string "Install Dir" which I noticed mine wasn't set correctly, to an older installation folder before I moved the game. I changed it to be correct, to the current installation folder and it worked immediately. TLDR: Open RegEdit and go here: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Respawn\Jedi Fallen Orderand then fix the string named "Install Dir" to be correct. in my case: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Fallen Order"hope this helps. Also, EA if I can fix this maybe you can too.

@EA_Atic When is this scheduled to be fixed?? Because right now I have a game I've paid for that I can't use at all. The EA App was auto-downloaded onto my PC and now Fallen Order won't launch at all. Even though the game does appear on the EA app as a titled I own and have installed it won't launch. I can't seem to find a download for Origin so when will this be fixed?

If anyone is having any issues after trying all the other solutions on here:1- Uninstall EA App. It's broken don't even bother using it. Reinstall Origin and turn off Origin auto update just in case. 2- Go to the game file in Steam and into the "_installer" folder.3- Delete Cleanup.exe and Touchup.exe4- Go into the "Origin" folder in "_installer" and click through the files until you see "EAappInstaller.exe" and delete that.Then it should work at least for Fallen Order. Other games you may have to search around for anything EA app related in the game files and delete it or they will probably conflict. I had to restart Origin for some reason after all that but eventually it worked. Those files seem to force Origin to not run and install EA app instead. Don't bother with the EA app it does not work. Absolutely rushed.

Hi @zay7sev, Steam and Epic versions of EA Games will still use Origin lite for the moment.

@EA_Atic When is this scheduled to be fixed?? Because right now I have a game I've paid for that I can't use at all. The EA App was auto-downloaded onto my PC and now Fallen Order won't launch at all. Even though the game does appear on the EA app as a titled I own and have installed it won't launch.

I can't seem to find a download for Origin so when will this be fixed?

I got it to work by going to:

This worked for me. I’ve had this issue multiple times. Seems to be an issue with the EA app. Really should have been corrected by now.

Same problem. Weird how EA wants money immediately but they'll worry about delivering a playable game on a very convenient (for them) schedule.

I was so hopeful! This fix did not work for me either. I still have the popup on origin trying to force me to the broken ea app. I wonder if it is bricking origin for me now

Thank you for finding this out and sharing, I have been pissed for the last week and a half trying to launch this game only for EA to ruin it. You are doing God's work and I thank you for that.
