I've had Sims 4 attached to my EA account since it was hosted on Origin, and have a few add-ons at this point. I haven't played in a few months, so I'm willing to blame that a bit too.
Today when I went to launch the game, it said it needed to update; okay, fair. I tried to start that, and it kept running into an error (EC:10005). I cleared the cache for the app, tried to restart the update, but now EA says I don't have access - "This title may have been downloaded to your device by another user who owns the game. Log in to a different account or restart the app to try again."
I'm the only account associated with this computer, so no one else would have downloaded it - plus it's MY FILES. The add-ons still show as purchased on my account. I don't want to download the game onto my computer a second time for storage space reasons (and also because it's already here???), but I did try, and the download doesn't progress. I'm not sure what to do at this point, since uninstalling and reinstalling would jeopardize my save files, and isn't even guaranteed to solve the problem.
Has anyone had this issue before? Any known problems like this with known solutions? I've seen tips to "Add the game back to the library" but there's no longer a place to "+Add Game" on EA, and nothing in the menu/settings reveals the option either. Please help :(
