SIMS 4: Stuck at preparing

Hello @Blue5ka,

Please run through the following steps to get The Sims downloaded onto your PC:

• Cancel the download
• Open task manager, locate EA Background Service, and end task
• Clear the cache for the EA app
• Run the EA app as an administrator 
• Check for any background applications blocking the EA App
• Try lowering your User Access Control Settings:
  • Close the EA app
  • Click the Windows button and type "UAC" in the search field
  • In the User Access Control window, click and hold the slide bar —slide it to the lowest setting available
  • Click Okay the bottom of the window
  • Open the EA app client and try starting the download again

If the download still gets stuck on preparing once you've run through these steps, please let me know! 

Unfortunately, it's still stuck at preparing but at 52%. 

Is there a way I could download it on my C: and move it to my USB, instead ? 

I’m dealing with this issue too, did you ever find a solution?

@EA_Solaire I'm still having this problem and I've tried everything. Is there a fix?

Me too and it’s on preparing 40% stuck on it. And when I try to repair it just stays on 0%. I redownload sims again but is the problem that the old files are in the folders like the saves and stuff?

Anything on this? I have tried everything above for almost a week now and I don't even get to a start of download or any percentage just preparing with zero progress over and over again. 

I'm having the same issue. I sent my PC off for repairs, got it back and cant play. At first when I tried it said my files were corrupt and to repair the game. That didnt work, so I uninstalled it. When I tried to re-intall, I cant even get passed Preparing, no percentage or anything. The amount of times I've cleared the cache is insane. I've tried every troubleshooting option that I've come across and nothing is working. I tried to download TS3 as well just to see if it was only TS4 acting weird, but that wouldnt download either.

If you're still getting stuck on preparing with your download, please run an EA Error Report with the steps here and attach your Error ID into this thread so we can investigate into this issue further.

You don't need to have an open case on the help site in order to run the Error Report- you can still run the report without including a case number, and copy the Report ID. Once you have the Report ID, please attach it to the thread here for me.
