Gotta say in the day in whats about to be 2026, this is absolutely ridiculous. This is "Smoke & Mirrors" functionality over practical responsibility. The workarounds in this case are kids using their parents accounts which absolutely open them up to far more dangerous possibilities than simply adding parental controls or leveraging what the platforms already manage for you (Xbox, PS5, Nintendo - only chat/talk with Allowed Friends). I manage my Kids accounts to the Nine's across Apple, Xbox, PS5, Nintendo, Google, Meta (Quest 3), PC and this is the only platform - the only one - where Parents are overridden. Generally the only workaround is to....not buy the game OR worse, my kids use a Parents accounts (which parents are currently doing).
