Is It Possible to Recover an EA Account Without Access to the Email?

Hi everyone,

I’m posting here because I’ve been trying to recover my EA account for almost two months, and after multiple conversations with EA Support, I still have no solution.

My PSN account is linked to an old EA account. I originally used this account on my PS4, but I sold that console and later bought a PS5. The problem is that I no longer remember the full Hotmail address associated with my EA account, and I obviously cannot access it.

I still have:

  • Full access to my PSN account
  • Full access to my PS5
  • The phone number linked to the EA account
  • My PSN ID and account information
  • The ability to provide information or proof of purchases if necessary

EA Support has tried sending the Device Recovery option to my console several times. I tested it on my PS5 and even another PS5. Every time, instead of allowing me to update my account information, I get the Login Verification screen asking EA to send a verification code to the old Hotmail address that I cannot access.

My phone number is still linked to the account, but EA Support told me they cannot send the verification code by SMS. I also asked whether they could tell me the complete email address linked to the account so I could try recovering the Hotmail account directly.

After speaking with several advisors, I was basically told that without access to that old email address, they cannot verify ownership or continue the recovery process.

What I find difficult to understand is that I can prove ownership of my PlayStation account, have access to the console, have the linked phone number, and can provide additional information, yet there seems to be no alternative verification method.

At this point, I just want to use my own PSN account to play EA Sports FC. I’m also concerned about potentially losing access to purchases, progress, and content connected to this EA account permanently.

Has anyone here experienced the same situation?

Were you able to recover your EA account without access to the original email? Is there another recovery method, department, or process I can try?

Any help or experience from someone who has dealt with this would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi there,

I’m sorry you’ve been dealing with this for so long. I can understand how frustrating it must be when you still have access to your PlayStation account and console but can’t get past the verification for the old email.

One thing worth trying, if you haven’t already, is signing in to your EA Account using the PlayStation sign-in option rather than entering your EA email and password. You can also check the EA Account or Connected Accounts section in the settings of an EA game on your PlayStation, as some games may show the email connected to the account there. If that helps you identify the old Hotmail address, you could then try recovering the email account directly through Microsoft.

If you’re still being stopped by the Login Verification screen, unfortunately we can’t bypass account verification or recover the account through the EA Forums. Since the Device Recovery option hasn’t worked for you either, you’ll need to continue working with EA Help on the account recovery. When contacting them, make sure to provide your PSN ID, any account information you know, proof of purchase you have available, and details of the recovery attempts you’ve already made.

I know you’ve already spent a lot of time on this, and I wish there were another option we could offer from here.
