Save file not reading

Hi!! I’m a Mac user, and my save file isn’t reading in my game.

It used to be an old version of my save, so it was titled 000002.save.vers01 (or whatever the more accurate version of that is). 

i ended up removing the main save file, and renaming the version to just .save. But then when I loaded up my game, it didn’t read the file.

I took out that file, and put in the original .save. And that isn’t reading either.

please help!! :(
