I have a game pass subscription but EA app still asks me to pay for the game.

I clicked the download button on Xbox app, Yes my Xbox is connected, yes I've logged in and out, nothing appears to work, from what I've been reading this is a known issue that has not be solves after years of it bugging, i want to be able to down games to play with friends but i am not able to, someone help, im on windows and i have a F11 gaming laptop.
