Apparently, "will not be able to access the online aspects of certain games" means he can't browse, install and play any single game from EA Play, even if he is in required age. You should make that information VERY VISIBLE to a person who creates a child account.

Hey @gleniu87 a child account should still be able to browse the store and app, I am testing it now and can see all the games and add them.
Have you ensured that you are logged in with the correct account?
Darko I have this same problem. My son is 12 yrs old and I want to enable him to play a PC game (he has an XBox Game Pass). When clicking on the XBox Store to play the app, he is redirected to the EA App and gets a "404" error. He has no problems playing the EA game on the xbox, but it just won't work on the PC. I've attached screenshots on what we see on his computer.

Hey @petehauge an underage/child account will not be able to access the same games and features as an adult account.
You can find more info related to a child account and features that can cause issues like this: https://help.ea.com/en/help/account/online-access-for-child-accounts/?mod=article_inline

I'm going to be honest and say it makes no sense that my son can use the game on our XBox console and cannot use the SAME game on his PC. This is fundamentally busted.
So, can I do any of these to workaround this busted feature?
- Give my son permission to use the game on the PC (I'm his parent and should be able to give him permission)- Link a different non-child account to his XBox account (since his XBox account has Game Pass), I can take any liability as his parent in giving him access to the games
- Convert his child account to a teen account (he is 12 yrs old) since I trust him with teen content as his parent? (the support person said I have to submit legal documentation like a birth certificate, but he's 12 so that doesn't fix this)
Please advise on any options we have to workaround this oddball and seemingly busted limitation.

Hey @petehauge if the account is not able to access the features due to being a child account then you will need to wait till such time as the account is able to age up.
Our live support team will be able to provide more information in relation to this.

I am having the exact same problem. What's the point of the game pass if I cannot add Madden Football that is rated 3+. Something else is going on here
This doesn't make any sense. I want to play battlefield with my son. I own game pass so we can play games together. Where is the option to just give him permission to play any game I say he can play????
- @EA_Darko This really is a disaster
There are games aged 3+ on PC game pass from EA that are not accessible to kids subscribing. My children are 10 & 12. Can’t use EA games on PC. Is there any work around yet? I was just looking into EA play subs for my son, as I have game pass and he can access games since he's "family" except for EA play games.
I learned that EA play subscriptions are per account, per platform.
This means that in order for your son to use EA Play on windows, you would need a separate subscription to EA Play for Windows. Your xbox EA Play subscription with Game Pass doesn't include it. The same goes for Steam on windows - if you want to access EA Play games on Steam you need a separate one for doing it that way as well.
The age restriction issue if your son is under 13 years old is a separate issue - I feel that pain also.
Hope this helps you. J
Thanks for taking time out to reply. It’s was helpful. And I think I understand clearly. Would another way to summarise what you have wrote is that I need to pay EA too with an account subscription also?
When you create a MS Xbox PC game pass and pay for it, the auto setup asks you to create an EA play account and link it. That’s fine and the process is fairly automated via the game pass set up….
what it does not say is you have to pay EA.
my expectation was to be able to play EA games based on my game pass subscription
- @MinedAura194617 No you are correct that if you pay for Xbox Game Pass you should have access to all the EA Play games at no additional cost ( does not include the premium EA Play Pro games however).
The above replies were alluding to the need to pay a seperate subscription for each platform you want to use EA Play on. For example, if I have a PS5 and subscribe to EA Play, I cannot login and use EA Play on my Xbox or within Steam (they will ask you for payment).
The one exception for this may be with Game Pass ultimate as that is one subscription that covers Xbox and PC, and both include EA Play.
The way EA has handled this is pretty confusing and anti consumer but I've made my thoughts clear on that in other posts. @CynlolThanks for taking time out to reply. Good to know. Do you have any idea on how I fix it? It seems clear my subscription is good and it should give me EA play access. Thanks
So what you are saying is that a child account cannot use the EAplay Subscription that they get through Game Pass ultimate?
We have the same problem, we have a XBOX Ultimate account and linked it to my sons ea so that he can play the games that XBOX says he can redeem for free, but when you are in the EA app the Library is completely empty. Annoying as hell.
Hello,
Can someone from EA acctually answer on this issue? this is ridicioulos.
XBOX and EA are scamming people telling them these games are included in the gamepass
Its December, will this ever be resolved?
This link doesn't have ALL the useful info at all.
WRONG
This is the worst answer and makes no sense
I have the same issue for madden. If I want to allow him to install and play online it should be up to me not ea.
I have the same issue for my son who is 11 and wants to play Plants vs Zombies which has an age rating of 7! It's ridiculous and I feel like there should either be a warning or we should be given a refund! You try to do the right thing and be honest about his age and this sort of thing happens!
Hi @EA_Darko !
Unfortunately there is no exact information about the problem or the solution of it. Is there any chance to resolve it, or get real information? The thing is, that man can install none of ea play games with Game pass ultimate on PC with ea child account. It is a very serious and huge issue.
Thanks for reply in advance.
My son is 14 yrs old and I want to enable him to play a PC game (he has an XBox Game Pass). When clicking on the XBox Store to play the app, he is redirected to the EA App and gets a "404" error. He has no problems playing the EA game on the xbox, but it just won't work on the PC.
same problem, We use only computer and for son I bought separated GP Ultimate, but on his account we can not play EA games.
In EA app on his (child) account there is no any additional option etc,
There is also imposible to unlink this account with XBOX app. ----- because EA APP is just empty. At the same time we can not login to his EA account via WWW because there is need email adrdress. His EA child account was made via XBOX app and in this situation we have only EA login, not email which is necessary to login EA account via WWW.
- @fnatic1980 ...........EA kid account made via XBOX app has some email, but this is in some sense selfcreated "[edit: email address removed]" - we dont have access to this email, even we don't have full name of it.
