F1 25 Tyre Smoke

Dear EA Team,

I would like to raise a constructive yet clear and critical concern regarding the reintroduction of tire smoke in the latest installment of the F1 series. It was already evident in F1 24 that the majority of players found this feature to be disruptive and unnecessary.

I find it particularly problematic in terms of fair competition within crossplay. While PC players have the ability to disable the smoke effect, console players do not have this option, resulting in an obvious imbalance and a lack of equal competitive conditions.

Furthermore, the exaggerated tire smoke does not align with the realistic standard the F1 series aims to represent. While such visual effects might be appropriate in arcade-style games like Need for Speed, they have no place in a title that claims to authentically simulate real-world Formula 1 racing—especially not in competitive league racing.

In the interest of fair and realistic gameplay, I urge the development team to either remove this feature completely or at least ensure that all platforms have equal access to disable the tire smoke effect.

I also encourage fellow players to voice their opinions on this issue to emphasize its importance.

Thank you for your time and understanding.

Best regards

A dedicated F1 player who values fairness and authenticity

  • I completely agree.

It's absolutely incomprehensible why the excessive tire smoke was brought back into the game – especially considering how often this issue has been criticized in the community. It feels like player feedback is being completely ignored.

What particularly annoys me is the inequality in cross-play. PC players can simply disable the effect, while console players are forced to deal with it. This is not only unfair, but also frustrating when playing competitively. This simply shouldn't happen in a game with cross-play.

And let's be honest – the whole thing just doesn't fit the standards of a realistic F1 game. It looks like something from an arcade racer and has no place in a simulation.

I really hope EA takes this to heart and either removes the smoke again or at least ensures that all platforms have the same options.

It would be cool if more people would get in touch – maybe then something will finally happen.

  • I completely agree with this post. I also find the excessive tire smoke distracting and inappropriate for a game that aims to realistically simulate Formula 1 racing. What bothers me even more is the inconsistency between platforms  it's unreasonable that console players are at a disadvantage while PC players can disable this effect.

Fairness and equal opportunities in crossplay should be a given. I sincerely hope EA takes this issue seriously and delivers a solution as soon as possible ideally through a unified disable option across all platforms.

Thank you for the well articulated post I fully support the call for change!

    Absolutely!

There is nothing to add, so let's hope that EA will listen to the community and their customers .
