Tip: Rain problem !!!

A note to EA and Codemasters. The problem with the rain is not in free practice or qualifying. It's in the actual race, as I have discovered. I took the trouble to examine the problem closely. I modified the tires so that I had extreme grip and drove the full distance in free practice, qualifying, and the race in Japan.

Conclusion: I was 6 seconds faster in free practice and qualifying. In the race, I was 2 to 3 seconds slower. All this at AI level 100 percent. The problem lies solely in the programming for races. Either the AI has more engine power or continuous ERS because the ERS recharges much too quickly with the AI. Now you have a clue as to where to look.

But it's not really my job to test this, it's yours, dear EA employees. I only did it because it absolutely annoys and angers me that it hasn't been fixed yet and because, as a retiree, I didn't have anything better to do.

That's interesting regarding having the ERS assist on. I am going try that out later on. You are definitely right though. The AI seems to have endless ERS and it seems to be too often and way overpowered. Again poor programming!

  • I also noticed that when it rains, I can't even reach 300 km/h in certain sections, even though it should be possible. Were the tracks set up so that you can only reach a certain speed when it rains? With the grip I modded, I should have easily been able to reach 330 to 340. I drove with 0 wing and Overtake to test this. I also noticed that the standard setups work best and my own setups are placebo. They have programmed the game completely to the standard setups and think that's enough for us. Who needs their own setups? Then I noticed that in the rain, ERS assistance should be turned on because it is better dosed and you have ERS for longer. So the ERS is always turned on and off in places. Anyone who drives with manual ERS in the rain is at a big disadvantage. Try it out for yourself.

To make us players believe that every change to the car has an effect that doesn't actually exist is, to put it mildly, pretty cheeky.

Great post and well said too. Their programming of the wet weather is amateur, calamitous and half hearted to say the least. It never should have been released this way. I'm fed up of their approach and lack of attention to detail year on year.
