Suggestions to Improve Women's Career Mode
First of all, I’d like to say that I thought it was really cool for the EA SPORTS FC team to introduce Women's Career Mode. It has become my favorite way to play the game, and I believe it has enormous potential to grow in the coming years.
After spending many seasons playing exclusively with women's clubs, I've noticed several opportunities that could make the experience even more immersive, realistic, and enjoyable. Most of these suggestions build upon systems that already exist in the game and could be adapted for Women's Career Mode.
1 - Complete Domestic Competitions
Every playable women's league should include its domestic cup competition.
Playing only league matches throughout an entire season becomes repetitive. Domestic cups would create a more varied calendar, increase squad rotation, and make each season feel more authentic.
2 - Expand European Competitions
Women's football in Europe is growing rapidly, and Career Mode should reflect that growth.
Some suggestions:
- Add at least one more playable league (Italy, Portugal, or the Netherlands would all be great choices).
- Use clubs already available in the "Rest of the World" category to expand continental competitions.
- Create a Women's Champions League qualifying stage featuring third-place teams and selected "Rest of the World" clubs.
- Teams eliminated in the qualifying stage could enter the UEFA Women's Europa Cup.
This would significantly improve long-term Career Mode saves, especially when managing mid-sized clubs.
3 - Expand North American Competitions
Adding Liga MX Femenil would be an excellent addition.
Since EA already holds the license for the Mexican national football team, this could be a realistic expansion.
With Liga MX Femenil included, it would also become possible to add the CONCACAF W Champions Cup, creating much richer experience for players managing clubs in North America. Three teams from the United States, three Mexican teams, and four additional North American teams from the rest of the world would already create this ten-team competition.
4 - Expand the Women's Player Database
This is probably the most important suggestion.
The women's player database is still much smaller than the men's.
As a result, only a few seasons into Career Mode, many clubs become heavily populated with AI generated players.
Expanding the database by adding hundreds of real players—even if they are not part of fully playable leagues—would greatly improve transfer variety and reduce the need for fictional players so early in Career Mode.
5 - Regens and Newgens
Generated players appear far too quickly in Women's Career Mode.
By the second or third season, clubs like Chelsea, Barcelona, Arsenal, Lyon, and others already lose much of their real-life identity because several key players have been replaced by fictional ones.
For players looking for an authentic football experience, this significantly reduces immersion.
Instead of removing generated players entirely, Career Mode could offer different options:
- Standard squad renewal (current system)
- Late retirements (players retiring around 40–45 years old)
- Real Players Only Mode (no regens or newgens)
- Custom settings allowing players to adjust retirement age and generated player frequency
Many players enjoy regens and newgens, and they should absolutely remain in the game. The key idea is simply giving players the freedom to choose the experience they want.
6 - Smarter Transfer Market AI
Women's clubs could manage their squads more realistically.
Possible improvements include:
- Avoid selling too many key players during the same transfer window.
- Recruit players according to positional needs.
- Maintain balanced squads.
- Better preserve each club's identity over multiple seasons. In one save, I saw Chelsea at the start of the second season already without Kerr, Hampton, Beever-Jones, James...
These changes would greatly improve realism.
7 - Third Kits
Many women's clubs already have official third kits.
Since these kits already exist in the game files—thanks to the men's teams—it would be great to make them available in Women's Career Mode as well.
8 - Trophy Room and Rewards
Winning competitions should feel more rewarding.
Possible unlockables include:
- Historic kits
- Women's football legends
- Official match balls
- Stadiums
- Any rewards related to women's football
These additions would encourage players to experience different leagues and competitions.
9 - National Team Career Mode
A standalone Women's National Team Career Mode would be a fantastic addition.
Players could manage a national team through:
- World Cup qualifiers
- Continental championships (UEFA Women's EURO, Copa América Femenina, AFC Women's Asian Cup, etc.)
- FIFA Women's World Cup
This mode could exist independently from club Career Mode.
10 - Commentary and Presentation
Several presentation features available in Men's Career Mode are still missing or incomplete in Women's Career Mode.
Examples include:
- Commentary updates about simultaneous matches (I thonk there’s a bug here).
- More broadcast cutscenes.
- More club names spoken by commentators.
- More player names recorded.
- Better television-style presentation overall.
Small presentation improvements can make a huge difference in immersion.
11 - Board Objectives
In my opinion, the board objectives in FC 25 were more engaging than those in FC 26.
Examples of interesting objectives include:
- Sign two domestic players.
- Generate a specific transfer profit.
- Sell a player for a target fee.
- Sign a player from a specific national team.
- Promote a youth academy player.
- Qualify for continental competition.
These objectives make club management feel much more rewarding.
Final Thoughts
Women's Career Mode is already a fantastic addition to EA SPORTS FC, but I believe it still has enormous room to grow.
I understand that not every suggestion can be implemented immediately. However, every improvement—big or small—would help make the mode deeper, more immersive, and more enjoyable for players who love women's football.
Thank you for continuing to invest in women's football and for listening to the community. I hope some of these ideas can contribute to making Women's Career Mode even better in future EA SPORTS FC titles.
Apologies for my poor English. It is not my native language.
