I don't think the Devs are so incompetent that they would accidentally destroy their own game. More likely it is part of the effort to steer players towards UT.
This happens every year for the past five years, game is made worse and worse... constant changes to the meta so players need different players to win.
Usually this time of year they change the meta to speedsters, and in January they will make it so that Strength is important. So remember to keep buying packs with real money to make the devs happy.
