Feature: Club Cultural & Strategic Hiring Preferences – Manager Career Mode
It would be amazing if EA FC could introduce a mechanic where clubs have unique hiring preferences tied to their history, culture, and strategy. These preferences are revealed during the job application or interview process and create additional, optional objectives for managers beyond traditional performance targets. This is similar to what's done in Football Manager, often referred to as "special missions" or "hidden objectives".
Example scenario: When a career mode manager in EA FC applies for a role, the board may communicate preferences that align with the club’s identity, such as:
- Nationality Bias
Example: “The Club has a strong tradition of working with Spanish players and would like this to continue under your leadership.”
- Tactical Philosophy
Example: “The club values attacking football and expects the manager to prioritize offensive play or a certain formation.”
-Youth Development Goals
Example: “We want to see at least 3 academy graduates feature regularly in the first team.”
-Market Focus
Example: “Our recruitment policy prioritizes talent from South America.”
-Squad Composition Targets
Example: “Maintain a squad with at least 50% homegrown players.”
Benefits
- Increased Immersion: Clubs feel more unique and true to their real-world identity.
- Extra Challenge & Replay Value: Adds “soft objectives” for players to work towards in addition to league and cup results.
- Dynamic Role Fit: A manager’s nationality, language skills, and scouting network influence their likelihood of being hired.
-Narrative Depth: Board meetings and media interviews can reference how well you’ve adhered to these preferences
Implementation Ideas
Job Interview Dialogue: During the interview, the board outlines a cultural or strategic preference and asks if you’ll commit to it.
Manager Reputation Influence: Applicants with history or connections to the preferred criteria have higher chances of being hired.
Dynamic Updates: Preferences can shift over time (e.g., after a new chairman takes over).
Performance Tracking: Include a “Cultural Fit” score alongside performance metrics.
