Player behavior - Fairplay

I would like to provide feedback regarding the current player experience in EAFC 26. More than ever, matches have become affected by toxic behavior, specifically when players deliberately waste in-game time after gaining a lead. While it is understandable that players want to secure a win, this style of play has turned into a widespread form of toxicity that negatively impacts the environment and enjoyment for everyone involved.

The core issue is not only the lack of sportsmanship, but also how this repeated behavior creates frustration and reduces the overall sense of fair competition. When players exploit the clock instead of engaging in active play, the game no longer feels like a test of skill, but rather a matter of who can manipulate time more effectively.

Suggestion:

I strongly recommend that EA consider implementing a dedicated reporting feature aimed at identifying and discouraging toxic playstyles, such as excessive time-wasting. This would give the community a way to flag unfair behavior and encourage fair play. Such a system could be paired with monitoring tools or post-match feedback options that help keep the competitive environment healthy. Adding this feature would show EA’s commitment to fostering a positive and balanced community, ensuring that EAFC remains a game where skill, creativity, and sportsmanship are rewarded — not toxic exploitation.

  • I wanted to call EA out about this in a post last week but they removed it. You are right, this game encourages toxic behaviour.

Fairplay has gone for many years in EA football games.  With the introductions of all the different sort of 'Flair passes', ball juggling moves, celebrations and now even the Lobbed grounded pass, toxic players received a whole arsenal to annoy the living sh*! out of their opponents. The new tactics system combined with nerved defense makes it very hard to put pressure on the other team, giving players the opportunity to pass the ball around between their defenders and there's nothing you can do about it.

Early 2000's, I was having nice chats with opponents after a game, complimenting each other, wishing each other luck. Now there are just too many moments that I want to crush someone's skull after a game.

If you give people the means and opportunity to be an a-hole, they will do so. It's in our nature. And EA gave us all the means we need.
