I don't think EA have ever truly marketed FIFA or FC as realistic football simulators. Whilst they have put some emphasis on realistic players, crowds, player motions, and the such. I can't think of any time in the last 17 years or so that I've picked up one of these titles and thought I was getting a realistic football simulator. You just have to look at the way most people have played it over the years.
Every football game has their faults, I never personally liked the mechanics or gameplay of PES or eFootball, I thought UFL might be decent but like more recent FIFA/FC something often feels off when I'm playing it.
I really don't know why you are expecting to find a realistic football simulator in 2025. Levitating cars don't exist yet.
I think another developer could do a much better job if they bought the rights and invested their time into the game, I feel EA’s focus has been around generating money from FUT, EA are making more money then the early days due to micro transactions millions make in FUT every day, people should expect better.
If Polyphony or Accolade were to invest the time and resources into creating a football game the EA have, I reckon they will do a much better job.zionjnr, They do, we call them helicopters.

I agree with you that the gameplay in the past has felt off while playing games such as PES, I just would like the gameplay to be more like it used to be.
It happens far to often where I play the game online and I instantly know if I am going to win or lose a game by the gameplay early on, I could be playing using Real Madrid online for example against another player also using Real Madrid, and you can tell by passes being constantly misplaced, players controlled by AI not finding space or taking themselves out of play, defenders playing attackers onside in ridiculously obvious situations, regaining the ball multiple times in dangerous areas due to misplaced passes or heavy touches. This does happen both ways, and I don’t feel the authenticity in the game, it’s not about my skill level or opponents skill level anymore when I basically have to drop the controller and walk away to lose a game, because the gameplay feels that pre determined.
Don't get me wrong, I completely understand all of your points, and there have been many discussions about them over the years. I've even had a few around the things things you mentioned, I won't mention some because I've already been temp banned twice on here for speaking about them. We've almost all had games where the everything feels completely off, part of that is down to an over saturation of animations in the game, and the game being inconsistent in choosing them. They have apparently looked at a lot of these things, so I'm hoping for progress.
I'm not trying to say you should buy the game or not. I'm just saying that out of the current options avaliable, there isn't any alternative that's any better. Whilst I also believe there are other companies that would have a lot of success making a football game, the rights to leagues, players, stadiums, and music cost an absolute tonne I'm sure. So if another company does come in they need it to be a success, or they will be out of pocket big time.
That's probably part of the reason there is such a heavy focus on things like the Ultimate Team store. Even TV rights to things like the premier league have sky rocketed over the last 10 years, and that draws a much bigger crowd than FC games. In the end, I can't say whether or not this years title will be any better than previous ones, but from what I've seen and heard it's promising, so I'm currently keeping my mind open.
Andrewrg2 You are absolutely correct, there is no better alternative currently and I feel some of that has to do with the sheer amount of loyal customers EA has, people want to play online against other players, EA has always had this covered as you will always have people to play against no matter the time of day or part of the world you live in.
The emphasis EA have invested in seems to be about generating money from micro transactions rather than the gameplay.This is also without touching on games dropping out that are must win for promotion, lobby glitches and the constant other glitches that have plagued the game for many many years now. They have not altered the game all that much, they have had the time, money and resources to fix these things but have chosen not to, they appear to make minor DDA adjustments via the updates which are barely noticeable and not a lot else.
And going by the tens of dozens new threads in this forum complaining about Beta access they are unsurprisingly very much on the same path, it’s not like they are new to this and it’s their first shot. People deserved better a long time ago, now I feel like they treat their customers as mugs, I for one don’t want to feel stupid for falling for it anymore. Drastic changes need to be made.
