Can someone crash and glitch a penalty shootout?

I just played a game, and a guy was really toxic, we went into a penalty shootout and all players went invisible, and i couldnt see where to shoot or where the opponent went, but somehow i still won, but just before showing the winning screen, the game fully stuttered and then crashed completely, and i got a DNF like i dont wanna make assumptions but was the guy cheating? thanks
