Controller stutter triggered by R1/R2 input on PC
Subject: Game-breaking controller stutter triggered by R1/R2 input in FC 26 (PC)
Hi EA team,
I’m experiencing a very specific and reproducible controller issue in EA FC 26 on PC (Windows 11), and I’d like to report it in hopes of a fix in a future patch.
Here’s exactly what happens:
1. I launch the game and play normally. The controller works perfectly fine for the first few minutes — smooth response, no input lag, no stutter.
2. The problem starts ONLY when I press R1 or R2 (or RB/RT on Xbox layout) during a match or even in the menus.
3. As soon as I press R1 or R2, the controller suddenly becomes “heavy” or “stuttery” — the input feels delayed, the response becomes sluggish, and the game feels unresponsive.
4. This stutter does NOT go away unless I restart the entire game. It stays for the rest of the session once triggered.
Important notes:
- I have already disabled ALL overlays (EA App overlay, Discord overlay, Xbox Game Bar, etc.).
- I am NOT using any third-party software like DS4Windows or reWASD.
- I tested multiple controllers, and the issue ONLY happens with my Gamesir T3 Lite (wired). Other standard controllers (like PS3 controller) work perfectly fine with the same game on the same system.
- I tried changing controller modes (X-Input, D-Input, DS4 mode) — the stutter still happens in all modes.
- I also tried disabling Microsoft GameInput service — no permanent fix.
- **My in-game settings are already set to: Frame Rate Limit = 60 FPS, and Graphics Quality = Low.** The stutter still happens even with these minimal settings.
The issue seems to be related to how the game handles R1/R2 input, possibly triggering a hidden overlay or conflicting with the controller’s polling rate (1000Hz) in a way that causes input lag and stutter.
Please investigate this issue and consider adding an option to disable the R1 music overlay shortcut, or optimize controller input handling for high-polling-rate controllers in a future update.
Controller used: Gamesir T3 Lite (also known as Tegenaria Lite), wired connection.

OS: Windows 11 (latest updates)
