EA FC26 wont launch

Hey EA,

I try to launch fc from steam, anticheat pops up, loads like 1 min and then it just closes. no error mssg.

i have tried launching it through ea app. Ive tried launching as admin. Cleared cache. verified files. uninstalling and reinstalling the anticheat. to no help

theres no real error mssg in event viewer either, it just says fc26 crashed.

you got a fix for this?

  • Thanks for trying. Let's see if these work.

Turn off Memory Integrity. In Windows Security go to Device Security > Core Isolation > Memory Integrity. Turn this off and reboot.

Also, check Secure Boot and TPM. Open msinfo32. Check to see if Secure Boot State = On and TPM = Present.

Try a Clean Boot test. Hit Win + R and go to msconfig. Under Services, check Hide Microsoft Services. Then, disable everything else. Under Startup, open the Task Manager and disable everything as well. Reboot and see if FC 26 launches. if it does, there's some background software that is causing the issue.

You should also repair the Windows system files. Open a command prompt and type DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth. When that's done, use the command prompt again and type sfc /scannow and reboot.

Something else would be to try rolling back your Nvidia driver. It's pretty new so an older one from the previous few months may help. Use DDU in Safe Mode to cleanly uninstall the current driver and then install an older WHQL driver.

If none of these help, get me a crash dump from Documents\EA SPORTS FC 26\CrashDumps as well as the contents of C:\ProgramData\EAanticheat\.

Hi there. Thanks for contacting us about your crashing issue. I'll try to help with this. First, can you get me a DxDiag report? Just attach it to a response. I'll go over this and make some suggestions. You can find instructions for gathering the report here

Thanks. Appreciate you gathering the DxDiag. Here are some suggestions.

Uninstall/reinstall EA AntiCheat with these steps:

    1. Go to Steam\steamapps\common\EA SPORTS FC 26\__Installer\EAAntiCheat and run EAAntiCheat.Installer.exe
    2. Select FC 26
    3. Uninstall AntiCheat
    4. Reboot
    5. Run installer again
    6. Install AntiCheat
    7. Reboot again

Disable overlays and monitoring tools. As a test, temporarily close these:

    • Discord overlay
    • Steam overlay
    • NVIDIA Overlay / GeForce Experience
    • MSI Afterburner
    • RTSS (RivaTuner)
    • Logitech G Hub
    • OBS
    • NVIDIA Broadcast
    • Overwolf
    • SteelSeries GG
    • Wallpaper Engine

It also looks like you have OBS Virtual Camera and Nvidia Broadcast Camera running. Completely exit out of these before testing.

Let's see if this makes a difference.

I just tested all that to no luck, it still just starts the anti cheat and closes down immediately :(

The suggestions I made were based on the OP's DxDiag. If you'd like to submit you're own, please start a new thread and tag me in it so that we don't hijack this one. Thanks!

  • Hey,

Try debugging the crash to identify what's causing the game to fail on launch.

    If you're on Windows:

    1. Open Event ViewerWindows LogsApplication.
    2. Launch FC26.exe and wait for it to crash.
    3. Return to Event Viewer and look for an Error entry that matches the time of the crash.
    4. Open the error log and review the Faulting Module or other error details to identify the root cause.

For example, in my case, the crash was caused by missing/corrupted Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable runtime files (e.g., msvcp140.dll).

Solution: Download and install the latest supported Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages from Microsoft's official website. You can find them by searching for "Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable latest supported downloads" on the Microsoft Support site.

The error log should point you to the specific component that's causing the crash, making it much easier to troubleshoot.
