Last year, there was a similar bug from March. It was only fixed in April, although there were dozens of people affected. There was a huge thread where EA said they couldn't replicate the issue on their machines. As a result, they couldn't fix it. I don't expect them to pay attention to this this year. Switching to a different PC or forgetting about it as a bad dream would be a better option. This game was developed in 2016, and it's outdated, unable to handle the current code. We're waiting for a new game written from scratch to be released.
