FC 26 crashes after connecting to EA servers, but works offline

Hi everyone,

I recently changed to a new PC, and I am having a serious issue with EA SPORTS FC 26.

The game can launch normally, and it seems to work when I stay offline or do not connect to the EA servers. However, as soon as the game connects to the EA servers / online services, it crashes immediately and closes to desktop without any clear error message.

So far, I have tried replacing the files in:

C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\EA SPORTS FC 26

but it did not solve the problem. The game still crashes right after connecting to the EA servers.

This problem only seems to happen when the game connects online. If I do not connect to the EA servers, the game appears to run normally.

Has anyone experienced the same issue? Is this related to EA AntiCheat, EA App cache, cloud save, account data, or some compatibility issue on a new PC?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

  • Hi EA_Hux

Thank you for your help. I have finally found the cause of the issue.

After further testing, I discovered that the crash was related to my home network DNS settings.

    Here is what I found:

    • When I used my home Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection, FC 26 would crash immediately after connecting to the EA servers.
    • When I connected my PC to a mobile hotspot, the game could connect to the EA servers normally and did not crash.
    • After changing the DNS settings on my home network connection, the game was able to connect to the EA servers successfully and no longer crashed.

So in my case, the issue was not caused by the CPU, GPU, EA AntiCheat, game files, or local profile files. It was caused by the DNS/network environment.

For anyone experiencing a similar issue, where the game works offline but crashes after connecting to EA servers, please try changing your DNS settings.

The solution that worked for me was:

    1. Open Windows network settings.
    2. Go to the properties of the current Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection.
    3. Change the DNS server manually.
    4. Use a public DNS server, for example:

    223.5.5.5
    119.29.29.29

or another reliable public DNS server.

    1. Save the settings.
    2. Restart the game and try connecting to EA servers again.

After changing the DNS, FC 26 worked normally for me.

I hope this helps other players who are having the same crash issue after connecting to EA servers.

  • I found a solution to my FC 26 launch/crash issue and wanted to share it in case it helps other players experiencing the same problem.

My problem was that FC 26 worked normally in offline mode, but whenever the game tried to connect to the EA servers during startup, it would crash to desktop without any error message.

I discovered that Memory Integrity was disabled in Windows Security.

    What I did:

I searched for Windows Security from the Windows taskbar search.

I opened Core Isolation under Windows Security.

    I opened Core Isolation Details.

    I turned Memory Integrity on.

Windows showed some incompatible drivers/files that were preventing Memory Integrity from being enabled. I removed those files.

    I restarted the computer.

After restarting, I launched FC 26 again.

The game connected to the EA servers successfully and no longer crashed. It now starts and runs normally.

This seems to indicate that the problem was related to Windows Core Isolation/Memory Integrity being disabled, possibly because of incompatible drivers that were preventing it from being enabled.

Before this, I had already tried repairing/reinstalling EA AntiCheat, rolling back Windows updates, changing DNS, reinstalling the EA App, and several other troubleshooting steps, but none of them solved the problem.

I hope this helps anyone experiencing the same FC 26 + EA AntiCheat crash.

    Hello NevermindFC

Since the game works offline and only crashes after connecting to EA servers, I'd focus on these steps first:

    • Repair or reinstall EA AntiCheat
    • Clear the EA App cache
    • Temporarily disable any third-party antivirus/firewall and add FC 26, EA App, and EA AntiCheat to the exceptions
    • Disable overlays (Discord, GeForce Experience, MSI Afterburner, etc.)
    • When you launch the game and reach the screen asking you to select a profile, delete that profile. You'll then be prompted to create a new one. Don't worry, you won't lose any of your progress by doing this. You'll just need to adjust your settings again afterward.
    • Reinstall the game.

Let us know if you see any improvements.
