FC 26 launches Anti-Cheat, black screen, then closes back to EA App
I'm creating this discussion because I've been working with EA Support for several days and the issue is still unresolved.
My setup:
- Steam version of EA SPORTS FC 26
- EA account linked correctly
- Windows 11
- Secure Boot enabled
- TPM 2.0 enabled
Issue:
The game starts normally, EA Anti-Cheat loads successfully, then a black screen appears for a few seconds and the game closes back to the EA App without any error message.
I have already tried:
- Reinstalling the game
- Reinstalling EA Anti-Cheat
- Reinstalling the EA App
- Verifying game files
- Clearing EA cache
- Clean Boot
- Running everything as Administrator
- Updating Windows and GPU drivers
- Enabling Secure Boot and TPM 2.0
Nothing has solved the problem.
An important detail:
I was able to play the FC 26 Showcase on this same PC using the same EA account before purchasing the full game. The problem only started after buying the full Steam version.
I'm starting to believe this may be related to Steam entitlement or EA account data rather than my PC.
Questions for anyone with the same issue:
- Are you playing the Steam version?
- Were you able to play the FC 26 Showcase or the game before purchasing the full version?
- Has anyone with this exact issue received a solution from EA?
If an EA Community Manager sees this, I would really appreciate if this could be forwarded to the technical team, as I believe this issue requires investigation on the account/backend side rather than additional PC troubleshooting.
