FC 26 unplayable for 18+ days, black screen on launch, EA silent

I'm creating this thread because there is already an active one (13371527) reporting the exact same issue with multiple affected users, but EA_Aljo , the Community Manager handling it, has been silent for 9 days after saying "we are looking into this." That is not acceptable for a paid product that multiple legitimate customers cannot launch. I want this issue to have the visibility it deserves, and I'm also reaching out to the community here in case anyone has actually managed to solve this on their end, because EA clearly hasn't.

My situation: FC 26 has been completely unplayable on my account for over 18 days, since late April. I have more than 200 hours of legitimate playtime on this account. The game worked perfectly for months until one day it stopped, and it hasn't launched since. When I start the game from EA App, Javelin Anticheat loads, the game window opens to a black screen, and it closes itself after about 10 seconds with no error message, no crash report, no log entry pointing to anything useful. EA App just stays open in the background as if nothing happened.

I have exhausted every troubleshooting step that exists for this. The full list, so we don't waste time repeating:

  • Repaired the game through EA App
  • Fully uninstalled and reinstalled FC 26
  • Manually deleted C:\Program Files\EA\AC and reinstalled EA AntiCheat by launching FC 26 as administrator
  • Reinstalled EA AntiCheat from the standalone installer in the game folder
  • Updated NVIDIA drivers to the latest version
  • Tried older NVIDIA drivers as well
  • Disabled NVIDIA App overlay
  • Disabled Discord overlay
  • Closed every background app
  • Cleared Documents\EA SPORTS FC 26 completely
  • Disabled cloud saves in EA App settings
  • Signed out and back in to the EA web/companion app
  • Freed up significant disk space on C:
  • Ran the full clean boot procedure with msconfig (hide Microsoft services, disable all, disable all startup items, restart)
  • Created a brand new Windows user profile and tested from there
  • Installed/reinstalled Visual C++ Redistributables (x86 and x64)
  • Checked environment variables for GAME_DATA_DIR (does not exist on my system)
  • Verified Secure Boot status and TPM 2.0
  • Restarted properly multiple times
  • Tested launching as administrator

None of it has made any difference. The behavior is identical every single time.

About the "key" test EA Community Managers keep referring to, where they ask affected users to log in with someone else's EA account: I did it. A friend's EA account launches FC 26 perfectly on my PC. Same hardware, same Windows install, same drivers, same everything, only the account changed, and the game worked. That confirms beyond any doubt that this is not a hardware, driver, or local issue. It is account-side or server-side.

I want to be very clear about something, with all due respect to EA_Aljo , who I know is trying to help: that cross-account test should be a one-time diagnostic, not the default response EA gives to every new user reporting this. It is not a fix, it is a confirmation of what we already know. It is also impractical and ethically uncomfortable to keep asking users to perform it:

  • FC 26 is tied to whoever bought it, so "use a different account" is not just switching logins. It requires another person who already owns and has installed the game, lives close enough or is willing to share credentials remotely, and is comfortable doing so.
  • Sharing EA account credentials is a Terms of Service violation. EA cannot, in good faith, keep recommending a test that requires users to break the ToS to perform.
  • Most users don't have a friend who meets all of those conditions. Those of us who managed it inconvenienced someone significantly, and it shouldn't be a recurring ask in every new ticket on the same issue.

The data is in. The pattern is clear. Multiple users across thread 13371527, with completely different hardware (mine is Ryzen 5 4600 + RTX 3050, another user has a 7800X3D + RTX 4090), different countries, different setups. The only common variable is that our specific accounts cannot launch FC 26 while other accounts can. This is not isolated, this is not a local fluke, and this is not something we can fix from our end.

I'm attaching a video showing exactly what happens when I try to launch the game, as well as my latest DxDiag report for full system reference. Everything anyone could ask for to diagnose this is already provided.

What I'm asking for:

EA_Aljo , with respect, we need more than "we are looking into this" followed by silence. Please give us a real update, even if the update is "still no fix, but the team has been formally engaged and your case ID is X." Anything is better than 9 days of nothing on a thread full of paying customers who cannot play. Please escalate this properly to the Javelin team and the account/entitlements team, and please come back to us with something concrete.

To the community: if anyone has actually resolved this exact issue, black screen on launch with cross-account test confirming it's account-side, please share what worked. I've read through every related thread I could find and nothing posted so far has worked for me or for the other affected users. Any lead is appreciated.

I'm not going anywhere. I'll keep bumping this until there's a real answer. Thanks.
