Regarding Server Issues in Turkey and the Balkans
Hello everyone and the EA Team,
For years, we have been investing both our time and financial resources into this game. However, the quality of service we receive in return unfortunately declines with each passing year.
The Problem Is No Longer About "Internet Speed!"
Personally, I have a 1000 Mbps fiber infrastructure at my home. Even though I live in the heart of Istanbul and am geographically not that far from European servers, my in-game experience is a total disappointment. The problem is not our internet; it is EA's lack of investment in this region.
Chronic Issues We Face:
- Heavy Gameplay (Input Delay): No matter how fast our internet is, the players feel heavy, as if they are "moving through mud." The response times are so poor that we end up fighting the game itself rather than the opponent.
- Connection Instability: We receive "unstable connection" warnings most of the week. Disconnections or freezes in the middle of a match have become a routine. Even without the warning, the game is far from the fluidity it should have. Maybe only one day a week is the game truly "playable."
- Unfair Competition: While players close to server hubs (Germany, Netherlands, etc.) play with 1-5 ms, we try to play between 20-30 ms (which is often a dream anyway) with poor-quality data flow. Under these conditions, it is impossible to talk about fair competition in competitive modes.
I’ve reached a point where, instead of asking myself "Do I feel like playing FC today?", I ask "I wonder if the servers are good today?" Please show some value to such a loyal player base.
Our Expectations and Solution Proposals for EA Sports:
Increasing server capacity for the Balkans/Turkey line or planning a new Local Server Hub that can handle the high player density in this region.
Optimizing the data routing between current servers and this region to prevent data loss and "heavy gameplay" (delay), even when ping values appear low.
Thank you to everyone for reading.
