Frustration with Player Switch Logic: Missing Crucial Defensive Opportunities
Ever had that moment when the player switch doesn't react fast enough, and a counter-attack results in a goal? It’s incredibly frustrating, right? While it’s clear that distance plays a role in determining which player you switch to, there seems to be a missed factor, the likelihood of preventing a goal. In a counter attack, when the opponent has space to run, the game doesn’t always switch to the best defender in time. Imagine this scenario: The attacker has passed your last defender, and chasing them is pointless unless they slow down. But, your back defender on the far right could still catch up and potentially stop the attacker, provided the switch to that defender happens quickly. Unfortunately, this isn't always the case, and it leaves players in stressful situations when defending against fast counter attacks. There is definitely room for improvement here, especially when it comes to identifying which player has the highest chance to prevent a goal. Thoughts?
