Key Issues That FC 26 Should Address

  1. Goalkeeper AI
Since manual GK movement is limited, AI-controlled goalkeepers should be significantly improved. Currently, goalkeepers feel inconsistent. Increasing GK intelligence and reliability by a noticeable margin would greatly improve defensive balance.
  2. Overall Game Speed
The current gameplay speed feels too fast, especially in passing during the early and mid-game cycles. Reducing the overall speed by around 10–20% would make the game feel more natural. The current pace feels more appropriate for late-cycle gameplay rather than the start of the year.
  3. Forward Balance (Nerf Pina)
Pina is currently overpowered, resulting in a lack of striker diversity. Almost everyone is using the same forward, which makes expensive alternatives feel unrewarding. A nerf would encourage more variety in striker choices and improve overall balance.
  4. Defensive AI During Counterattacks
When facing counterattacks, defensive AI should react better to attacking runs. Even slight improvements in tracking triggered runs would help, especially for newer players who are not yet comfortable with manual switching. At the moment, skilled players can consistently play through balls that lead to uncontested breakaways.
  5. Passing Target Selection
Passing often goes to the wrong player despite accurate directional input. Improving pass target recognition would make passing feel fairer and more responsive to player intent.
  6. Server Performance
Server responsiveness should be restored to the smoothness experienced on day one. Current server performance significantly affects gameplay consistency.
  7. Tackling Consistency
Tackling felt much more reliable at launch. Currently, many clean tackles result in the ball bouncing back to the opponent—similar to FC 25. This reduces defensive reward and feels frustrating compared to the early FC 26 experience.
  8. Triangle Pass (1–2) Balance
The double triangle pass (one-two through balls) feels too effective. This should either be nerfed, or defensive AI should be improved to better react and position themselves against these passing patterns, especially when the defense is already well-positioned.
