Re: Madden 24 Game Crashing Xbox Series X

It is not a hardware issue. The only game that crashes for me every single time is Madden. Been happening since Madden 23. Its absolutely disgraceful. You claim hardware but that would mean you assume thousands of xbox series X are broken? interesting theory LMAO. CONTACT THE DEVS AND GET THEM TO FIX IT. IT CLEARLY IS A MADDEN ISSUE.

If this was a game issue @mccusk27 we'd be seeing posts and contacts about this. That we are not points to a system issue. It can happen that only one game causes you issues, for me it was a recent COD that crashes mine and I had to send it back to Xbox to repair. Once they did the issue disappeared.

Bro there’s literally thousands of posts spanning 3 years of this s. It’s a game issue. Why would it span multiple versions if it’s a system issue? Wouldn’t make sense to only hit madden 

I disagree, this is not an Xbox issue. I contacted Microsoft because Madden 24/23 are the ONLY games I play where it crashes my whole system. I went out and bought a brand new Xbox Series X and it still crashed the whole Xbox. I contacted Microsoft a few hours ago to let them know and they said it's on the developer to release an update and there is nothing they can do.

One fix I found is to downgrade the resolution to 1080p and turn off HDR.

I also found out time doesn't matter. You can be in the middle of your first game as soon as you turn the xbox on, and it crashes the whole Xbox. It's only games, training, and challenges that crashed for me. I do not play online.

It first occurred back on the last release of Madden 23. So maybe something was carried over or copied from 23. Also if it helps, I noticed the NAT goes unavailable when it turns back on so you have to restart the xbox in order to reset that. Microsoft says it's a security thing on their end for that, but the crashing is on the developer.

I played Cyberpunk for 7 hours with no overheating issues and an older title Ark Survival Evolved was played for 10 hours all in one sitting. I thought maybe it was series x games having the issue but this ruled that out after a few more games were played with no crashing.

Hey all, if a game issue then it would affect lots of people. That it is not points to a console issue. I had the issue with a single game, Xbox took my console back and I got a new one and never has the issue again. 

The best thing to do is to look through Xbox support troubleshooting and try the suggestions.

That's a strange one @TekLemur, did you bring the console into an Xbox store where they replaced it?

Have you tried your copy of the game in a friend's console?

No, this was all done via online with Xbox and shipping the console. This is a digital edition of the game not a physical copy.

So you haven't tested on a different console @TekLemur, you mean that you tested another digital copy.

I think there is some miscommunication. I mentioned that I received my third Xbox overall, so I am not sure how you are getting that it wasn't tested on multiple consoles since I've told you it was. The first Xbox was from a prior year and Madden 24 was causing a crash so after talking to Microsoft online through chat, I got a new one sent (second Xbox) after they confirmed no repair or fix was possible. So, I thought great it was an Xbox issue like you are saying. However, Madden 24 caused a crash in that one too. Frustrated I contacted Microsoft, and we walked through troubleshooting where we both noticed Madden was the only game causing a crash. I then returned that Xbox and got a new one (Xbox number 3) on Tuesday. Madden 24 crashed that one after talking to Microsoft chat, they agreed with the first tech that there is nothing they can do. They won't allow me to return the Xbox again because it's not an Xbox issue according to them. 

The summary:

All three Xboxes used a digital copy that was freshly installed with no data carryover.

At no point in time did I have two Xboxes at the same time, so each Xbox was set to my home system.

All three Xboxes crashed.

So, it was tested on three Xboxes using fresh installs of the game, but you are saying it's still an Xbox issue when two were brand new Xboxes? 

Your mention of a digital copy of the game implied that it was a new copy of the game and not a new console @TekLemur.

Just caused some confusion. Have you asked Xbox to replace your digital copy of the game?

Yeah, I'm waiting for the refund approval or rejection. I'm out all my money I spent on MUT though which sucks. They won't refund that. I'm in the process of returning this Xbox and not gaming anymore once I get a response.

Hey I am having the same issue, Madden crashes during franchise mode.

Also when I play my season games some how all my starters get benched and my backups are in? Can you please advise? 

I can play starfield for hours no crashing. A MASSIVE GAME. But I cannot complete a madden 24 or 23 game. Yeah it is definitely the console and not a horribly coded bug............. Thanks for stealing 70$ from everyone with this issue. scumbags.

This is extremely insulting that you place blame on xbox. If one game is crashing and it's only one its not the hardware it's the software. I quit playing madden 23 because of this issue. You imbodie everything we dislike about EA. This game cost 70 dollars and instead of helping fix the issue you place the blame else where. For about 3 years this has been an on going issue and EA had not once acknowledged it or put out a patch to fix it. The only thing they update are their stupid seasons mode for people who pay for digital cards. This bug started for me when they started doing seasons. You have the ability to contact EA but instead you choose to talk to us as if we are little kids who don't know anything about video games. Eventually somebody is to sue EA over this issue because they won't address it and the people they have for support ignore the issue as well and all these forum are proof or the issue being brought to EA and nothing being done about it. There's no reason for a game to crash 20x in an hour.

I also have the same crashing issue as all of these guys. Had my Xbox for 2 years bought it early and have played more than enough games without it crashing to know that it’s on EA. Madden 23 and 24 are not only the only games to crash but to crash every single time I play the game. For you to sit hear and blame hardware and say you’re not getting reports on this is a lie to yourself and your customers. Read the Microsoft store. There is review after review about it crashing crashing crashing. Fix your game and stop playing the blame game. After 6 years of buying the same damn game over and over you would think you guys would get it right. Fix your game. It’s not the Xboxes. Take accountability for your trash product and fix it. Nobody wants to have you suggest solutions because you’re just dodging the fact it’s a problem on your end. It’s disgusting and beyon narcissistic for you to blame consoles not a single person has had troubles with. EA should be ashamed 

I'm having the same issue and I'm on PS5 so for them to say its a hardware issue it's a lie...i hope there is a fix coming because this makes the game unplayable now

This is definitely a game issue it is effecting thousands of people I can play any other games for hours and no crash Madden is trash has been for years I don't even know why I waste my money on it every year
